I purchased the V2Premier which I just received in the mail via 3 separate shipments. Upon initial hookup I found that the speakers didn't work. I got online with DigitalLifeline 4 times between between last night and this evening.

I have also been on the phone twice with the tech service department. The first technician accessed my pc and checked various things like volume control and uninstalled my sound driver. He then somehow got the subwoofer to work at a very low volume-you had to hold it to your ear to hear an audio tape, but the two speakers had nothing.

He then decided that my new speakers were bad and needed to be replaced. I plugged in an old set that I knew worked and they would not work on the pc - I got sound a very low volume sound from one and nothing from the other. The technician then referred me to the Viscom tech support number saying there was nothing else he could do.

The next technician I spoke to had me use the driver installation disk that came with the pc and another driver was installed that I don't believe was there in the first place. All the while when I would boot up the system the video professor would activate and tell me that it was not locating an installed sound card. The technician had me install yet another driver this didn't help either.

Tonight I got back on DigitalLifeline hoping to find a technician that knew what was going on and was told that in view of the fact that these other tech people had worked on it and came up with nothing, he didn't see what he could do and I was referred to the Viscom tech number again. At last contact I was told that I may have a bad motherboard and need to send the tower back to have it replaced.

As a last resort, this tech asked me to restore the system with the recovery disk. He did explain that I would lose the installed programs and at this point I was willing to accept that if this would correct the problem. He assured me that this would put the system back into operating order with all hardware. I installed the recovery disk and my speakers still don't work.

Now I have the system without the software that was installed as well as the original problem. In doing a search on MSN to find Viscoms web site - hoping to find an online support tech there and aviod sending the tower back, I came across all the "rip-off" reports and began reading them.

Now I'm at a loss of what to do - worried that if I send it back I'll never see it again, or that I'll get a replacement that is in worse shape then what I have now.

Last Nite I turned on my TV and I saw they pitching a system on the computerstore of shopNBC and I looked at the specs posted. Ive noticed some things that contradict JPeterson's claim that they are selling state of the art machines. For one thing I noticed a 533Mhz FSB. - This is considered to be the Front Side Bus(FSB) speed of an entry system that you pay 600 elsewhere. The mainstream pentium 4 systems I would get today for the price of over $1000 are suppose to have an 800 MHz FSB. So immediately I decided to not purchase their system. I also looked at the back of the machine that they manage to get a footage and noticed that a majority of the stuff is integrated onto the motherboard. This severely limits your upgrading capability. And They say they have a DVD RW thrown In. Right now the DVDRW technology is still quite premature so i would suggest waiting another 6 months before getting a DVDRW.

I couldn't be happier. I suggest you do the same. Visit their website. They have some great deals right now on desk-tops. DON"T BUY ANYTHING OFF TV!
