Ramada Plaza Resort Vacation Package #698 ripoff I got a postcard in the mail that stated I had 72 hours to call to verify I wanted a FREE 1600.00 voucher towards a Florida/Bahama cruise ship vacation. Ft Lauderdale Florida
I too go that card in the mail. I wish I would have done a search first! I just called today. It did seem a little too good to be true. They talk so fast and keep giving the phone to others for verification purposes.
My husband adn I love to travel and we certainly was interested in this GREAT DEAL. I gave my credit card# and they put the $698.00 on it. I asked how soon we could do it. Thats when they said that another $698.00 was due before it could be scheduled! I asked why I was'nt informed earlier in our conversation about the additional fee. The person claimed I was.
They also told me that *Carnival Cruise Lines had teamed up with them for this SPECIAL INVITE for me. Well I just checked out the Carnival Regal Empress. There is a Regal Empress cruis ship, not at all affiliated with Carnival! I could'nt find a direct site to it though. I did find a web page that spoke about it being a smaller scale and 1950 model, based out of the Bahamas.
I should have seen this one coming by far. I too fell for it. I'm thankfull that I paid by credit card. I have never done a charge back, but this situation will change that. Im not even going to call to cancel and request my money back, Im sure they do give a hard time about it. I strongly suggest that if your not used to high rate and low quality, toss that postcard quickly. Hope to save someone else from making this same mistake.
