Official Pest Prevention BEWARE of Official Pest Prevention Ripoff Rude Lies Unethical Elk Grove California
A salesperson approached my husband outside. He told him that if we paid him $49 they would service our house and after that they would come on a quaterly basis to fumigate our house. If there was anything we were concerned about in between the services we could call and they would come out with no extra cost. He told my husband that it would be $49 because it was a new neighborhood and they were running a special.
He then told my husband that they would need the $49 payment and would be able to spray that day for the first treatment. My husband then asked him for a receipt and he had him sign for it. Little did my husband know that he was signing a contract. Once we discovered that it was a contact (2 weeks later) we called and talked to a woman who was very Rude and said that was our fault for not reading what we signed and that the contract would end 5/19/2006. We accepted that since we made the mistake of not reading what we signed. Although they have come to our house when my children were home and they don't answer the door but they watched them knock and then just leave a bill with even spraying the house.
Well 5/19/06 called and I called Official Pest Prevetion to ask why my last bill had late charges since I had never made a late payment. I was told by JAIME that it wasn't his concern and that if I didn't pay he would send me to collections. When I asked him to speak to a manager he said he was the Owner of the company. I asked him for his last name so I could address a letter and he told me I didn't need to know it. He was rude!!! I just want to warn all out there don't do business with Official Pest Prevention!!

While the previous person who did rebuttal may have some points these contracts are very deceptive...you do literally need a magnifying glass to read the entire back with the small print. I'm sure if you have a disagreement or concern Jamie will treat you in the same manner. he does not have respect for his employees nor his customers, as he has stated in the office to his older brother Jeff customers and employees are disposable and replacable. they are in it to make money... while the orignal owner Jeff and Jamies eldest brother was for customer service wich was the time you have opened your account, the new owners of which you probably have had no contact with are a totally different story. read my report and you would get the entire story. they will treat you horribly as they always do and disrepect you like they did the one who filed this report, if you give them a call with any complaint. i would assume you out of contract after all they are only one year but if you call to cancel they will assume you still have a contract.. and treat as they did him. secoondly if you need to cancel there is a clause on the back of the contracts that states you may cancel inwrittingto their office in elk grove, within three business days of your signing. please remeber this if you are a fairly new customer...

Official has sprayed my house now for 6 or 7 years now. They come out every other month to spray, and call me the day before to remind me they are coming. Every time I have had to call a real person answers the phone (not a machine), and will schedule an appointment while I'm on the phone. They have not raised my price one penny since I signed up with them. I have been home and intentionally not answered the door when they knocked in order to see what they would do when they thought nobody was home. The man spent almost 30 minutes knocking down spider webs, and spraying around my home. I know they spray some of my neighbors also, sounds like they're doing something right!
