Tell us has your experience with this business or person been good? What's this?

I was initially billed the $5 for shipping and received the product which I tried and seems to be useless being billed $158 CDN on my next statement. Contacted company by email demanding to know why this was happening when as far as I knew I had not agreed to subsribe they sent me the following email.

"Hello Richard,

A pleasant day to you!

As stated on our Terms and Conditions, "Initially, just pay $3.95 shipping and handling charge and you will receive 30-day supply of Nature’ Slim Garcinia. If you like Nature's Slim Garcinia, simply keep the product. Once your 21 day trial has ended you will be billed $119.97 for the product and the enrollment fee. Then every 30 days, you will continue in the monthly program for $89.97+$6.95 S&H."

The most that I can do is process 50 US$ refund which will post on your account within 5 to 7 business days.

Maximum results from Nature's Slim can be seen in 2 to 3 months. I can apply a $30 discount to your monthly subscription. This way you can continue using the product for the lowest price of $59.97.

Let me know if this works for you so I can make proper adjustments.

Should you need further assistance you may call 1-855-474-9367. We are open 6am - 11pm EST Monday to Friday and 8am - 8pm EST Saturday to Sunday"

I contacted my credit card company and the  rep told me I could do nothing about the charge already incurred unless I had not opened the product. In which case I could have sent it back and demanded a refund. I asked if I could cancel the card and get a new one to avoid further automatic charges. He said that would not help, as the auto renewals and subs (eg for Netflix) follow the customer to the new card.

He said that I should email the company again and tell them to cancel the subscription so that I would have a record of having done so. Then, if they continued to charge monthly fees, the credit card company could initiate the dispute mechanism, refund the charge, and pursue the company. I did this and we'll see what happens.

Meanwhile I guess I learned my lesson: do not trust anyone online.
