I was quite please at first to have found an online optical store with the exact frames I wanted and for such a great price!  Ordering was a breeze and I received my glasses in the mail 10 days later.  When I opened the box, I immediately tried them on.  I could see clear as a bell.  That night I took them off, put them in the case and went to bed.  The next day, I put the glasses on and, through the natural light from the window, thought I was looking through a big smudge that was in fact a scratch the size of my pinky finger finger print.  It looked as though someone had taken a metal nail file ever so lightly to it.  Since I in no way every dropped them or ran into a wall (or nail file) and I had put them back in the case for the night, I knew the scratch had to have come from the factory.

I called customer service and told them my dilemma.  The lady was very rude to me and actually hung up on me when I asked her why I should have to pay shipping for her company's carelessness with my lenses! I called her back and asked for her manager and she would not oblige.  I ended up having to pay postage to send my glasses back to go-optic.com as they do not provide a return shipping label.  The woman I spoke to told me I could contact their finance department and get that credited back to my account, but as of yet my issue has not been resolved.

I got my glasses back after repairs, and for a second time, opened the box, and while the old scratch was gone, there are now two new scratches on the other lens! I immediately put the  glasses back into the case.  I immediately called their customer service again. The girl was very nice and tried to get me some compensation for my trouble. Three days later, she called me back only to tell me that her managers would not oblige. Not only that, they REFUSE to fix the scratches on my glasses saying that they could assure me that the glasses left the factory with no scratches on them the second time around. (Bull!) If that were so, then why do I have scratches on my lenses?  Surely USPS didn't open up my box and put those scratches on there, and I most certainly did no such thing either!

So now, my options are: keep a pair of scratched glasses that I paid over $220.51 + shipping (twice) for or return the glasses without recouping 100% of my expenses...they only give back 50% of lens cost and charge a 15% restocking fee for the frames.  To add more insult to injury, I have tried wearing my new glasses now for 30 minutes, and the glare is so bad it's almost like seeing double when I look at the clock on the cable receiver that is not even 10 feet away.  Not only that, I started feeling sick and nauseous with a headache, so I put them back in the case, into the box that they were delivered, and put my old glasses on.  I re-read their return policy and I'm pretty much screwed unless I want to invest 50% more into the lenses plus more shipping to give them yet  another chance to fix my glasses now the I know the prescription is bad.  The prescription was not like this the first initial time I opened the box.  It's as if they re-cut both lenses just to fix the first scratch.

Scam scam scam is written all over this company.  If you want professionalism in an online optic store, don't go to go-optic.com. If you don't think it's too much to ask for the company to get your glasses right the first time and at most the second time without attitude and without extra shipping charges for something that you, the customer did not cause, then go somewhere else other than gooptic.com. I went with gooptic.com in the first place because they had the frames I wanted, and I would have had to open up a new line of credit to get my frames at Lens Crafters. Hopefully no one reads this review and thinks I'm some Negative Nancy who complains about everything. That's really not the case. This is byfar THE WORST I've ever been treated by a company that I have been a patron to. I liken this experience to the time my husband was in Afghanistan and the locals at the market on the FOB sold him a POS phone for an arm and a leg only to have it not work and then they wouldn't compensate him or try to fix his phone. In other words, doing business with gooptic.com is like doing business in third-world country. So...buy on their site, I dare you, but you have been warned!"
