I bought a P5000 storage viewer through my usual reputable photography store. I have been a freelance photographer for 35 years and support for professionals has usually been good, as we know who we are dealing with on a regular basis. They are people who know the equipment they sell.

It was a surprise to find that the P5000 was not capable of viewing photos or movies as it had been advertised.

My first hours on support (and has always been to the Phillippines, so there was a time lag), Finally, as no one knew what I was talking about, I was transferred to "High Level" support. I was helped by a man who told me to get a Canon STV-250N cable, not the one I had which was exactly th same configuration. He described my ipod cable as "third party, no good."

"Canon is 3rd party", I asked him.

"But that's good", he replied.

Okay, maybe he knew something I didn't.

But when I received the cable, P5000 still didn't work. In fact I tried I with 4 different cords of stated configuration and 5 different TVs. So I called back and called back, I had to wait on hold for many hours all tolled, around 35. Finally, after repeating the same info again and again, I became frustrated to the point of no return and am trying to adjust to the fact that I bought a piece of equipment for 600. that I will have to absorb because they will not honor my position as their customer. Nor can I show a client the phtos, on location unless I bring a laptop which I do not want to compromise through endless movement.

I have never been so frustrated before.
