This is perhaps the most brilliant scam I have ever seen. Whoever designed this must be an evil genius. It is so well designed that I almost let them keep my $41 and think of it as life lesson worth every penny. I am posting this here for the benefit of anyone who is about to purchase a "7-day trial" for $4.88 for what they believe will be unlimited access to pirated software. That's right- these scammers have optimized their search engines for those of you looking to pirate software, and make it seem they have EXACTLY what you are looking for. They utilize so many different websites, that it is almost impossible to pin them down. A few that I was able to identify were:

nowdownloadall.com

unrestrictedownloads.com

superpaysys.com

secure.superpaysys.com

members-area.org

torrentsdownload.net

rapidog.com

downloadcave.com

marketbill.com

transact-bill.com

I'm sure there are more, but it's the same scam across the board. The "Bait" they use is a fake screen that shows a list of downloadable programs with the exact name and software version of the search you were previously looking for. This can also be a MOVIE or MUSIC or just about anything in particular that you were looking for. When you click the link to download, it displays an animated gif that looks like it's preparing to download the file. You are then told that you are NOT A MEMBER and given options to join their service. Here is part of the verbiage bait they use to entice you to join:

*******************************************************

Get instant access to millions of movie files, TV Shows, series, video clips as well as music MP3s, software programs that you instantly can download to your hard-drive. We show you and teach you how to use them, how to burn music and video CDs, create your own labels and much much more.

***********************************************************************************

The most logical of the membership options provided is for a "SPECIAL 7-day trial for $4.88:"

***********************************************************************************

Membership Options

Your membership is backed by a 7 day satisfaction guarantee.
Signup Now and join the millions of users that share files on the internet
Unlimited Downloads! This is a flat fee with no additional costs per download.

When you proceed to purchase and give them your payment information, they actually bill your credit card for $41.19. You have to look at the small print on the payment screen that actually does provide this data:

*************************************************
The total charge on your account today will be of USD 41.19 To change your options Click here
**************************************************

Now, if the case were such that indeed they DID give you the software/movie/music etc. you were looking for, it would not be so bad. What you DO get however is information about downloading a program that is already free and readily available to anyone not much different than Limewire or VUZE from 360share.com.

Once you realize you've paid for a service much different than the one originally represented on their bait screens, you can then call them at any of the following numbers to get a refund, but they do keep the $4.88 unless you make a big stink about it:

If you are located in:Dial this number:We are open from:
North America1-888-448-6887Monday to Friday from 8am to 7pm (EST)
London44 20 7 0991 805Monday to Friday from 1pm to 12am
Australia+61 1 800 213 036Monday to Friday from 10pm to 9am
Paris(+33) 9 75 17 85 78Monday to Friday from 2pm to 1am
Rest of the World+1 514-733-2725Monday to Friday from 8am to 7pm (GMT -5)
(Please note, Phone support is available in English, French and Spanish)

Don't bother wasting your money on this, they misrepresent the content they purport to have and will invoice your credit card on a recurring basis unless you specify otherwise. I'm sure most people forget to respond within their "7-day" trial period or realize they are being invoiced for a "service" that is already free in the first place.

Excuse me if I have misinterpreted your "report".....It appears, by your description, that you were attempting to
engage in software piracy which is an illegal activity. Odd that you would write an ROR stating that these are scam
sites (which they truly are) and indicate that you, too, are or were engaging in nefarious activity(ies).

If you are in the least bit familiar with how to obtain "warez" files then you should have immediately ascertained that
these were scam sites. Judging by your comments you appear to know how to get said files(z) without paying. So were is the ripoff? You ripping off the program/music/video publishers, the Business Software Alliance or The Software Publishers Association? Or these scam sites ripping you off?

Pot and kettle theorem seems to apply here :)
