I contacted Appstar in Sept 2014 about why they were continuing to charge my business account after I sent a termination fax in August 2013. I spoke to two managers "Harry" and "Abe" at customer service who said they never received the fax and to resend, which I did. I followed up a few days later. Harry said he received the fax and would cancel my contract without penalty. Appstar continued to charge my account monthly. I contacted them again in November 2014 and at first they said "they never received the fax,". After reminding them of our conversation two months prior, he finally found the fax and assured me again verbally that he would reimburse the monthly fees AND not charge a cancellation fee. Today, a $495 cancellation fee showed up on my bank transactions. In two months they charged me 788.00 in fees!! Also, I had my bank put a "stop: to all ACH withdraws from Appstar.  My bank confirmed that Appstar changed their name to First American Merchant Services to continue the withdraws. It bypassed the" ACH stop" I had put in place! I filled out fruad / complaint paperwork with my bank. Tweet about them @AppStarReviews

There are many reviews on Yelp! Here's what a friend wrote about Appstar Financial on Yelp: BE AWARE-DO NOT SIGN WITH APPSTAR. I signed up with this company in May 2014.  I asked the sales person who then called and asked his manager if they were going to pay off my old merchant services contracts.  He said yes and that is the only reason I went along with changing companies. I asked more than once and was assured more than once.  I took them at their word and signed were I was told to sign on the 10 page contract.  I even asked how they were going to know which companies and how much to pay to cancel the existing contracts and was told Appstar knew how to get the information.  We did not process a transaction until the second week of June and at that time found out how slow the transactions are being credited to our account.  Transactions rung up on Thursday-Saturday were not debited to our account until Monday.  About the same time we were charged for our new equipment lease and the old one as well.  When I called the company, they said I signed that "no verbal agreements" were struck between myself and the company.  I called over 4 times to explain what had happened.  At first I was told if the sales person verified what I was told, they would stand by that but when I called the sales person he said no one had called him.  This happened 3 times.  Then on 7/1/14, I was told maybe I could take action against the sales man not them.  We have been in business 18 months, does it make sense to sign a new 48 month contract for $87 per month when I have 30 months left at $44 on the old one?  To Appstar it does but to anyone else who has common sense it does not.  We have re-installed our old equipment and it is worth paying the $2495 early termination fees to get rid of this company
