Tell us has your experience with this business or person been good? What's this?
I was approached by a sales rep that wanted to look at my statements. She wanted to see if she could get me a better rate. This happens weekly at my biz and is annoying and i have switched back and forth many times. This time , however, I allowed it and without thinking too much signed a contract. within the hour, I talked to my current processor who pointed it wasnt much different but they would beat Appstars rate. I decided to stay with my current processor. I contacted Appstar and told them I changed my mind. The district sales manager called me and became very angry reminding of the cancelation fee. I said It has only been 12 hours since I signed. I actually had to hang up on him because I was very busy and he wouldnt stop ranting. He called right back and continued. I said im sorry I'm hanging up again. He told to fax him directly a cancelation letter. 5 days later he said it wasn't signed. so I refaxed. I started getting monthly statement fees so I called and they claimed they never got a cancelation letter. It is now April. I am faxing a cancelation letter.
For a company that has not processed a single transaction for me, my machine was never set up for them and they didn't even have my business phone number, I have now paid $245 in statement fees and will pay $495 cancelation fee. A total of $740.

For a company that keeps throwing around they're "A" better bus. rating, Dude was a jerk and probably threw away my original cancelation letter.

Do you realize that the consultants do not get paid for the consultations? We provide knowledge, education to help business's lower their overall expense. If your current processor was not doing this for you and did not have you at the best program available then they were not looking out for your best interest. Why would anyone want to stay with a company who could have given them better rates from the beginning, but instead will lower or match them in order to keep your business? They have already made enough off your account- why allow them to continue? They did not contact you to let you know when the rates lowered or that their is a new ammendment that will be effective October 1st that will allow you to save more money (if you are in the right program). It may have cost you money to get out but you really should have respected the time and effort of the consultant. As far as I know once you sign a contract, just like buying a house, you can't change your mind even an hour later and get out of it....

With all honesty I am glad that the company charged you a cancellation fee, I as a business owner will not want to put someone to work, do a good job by offering you a competitive program, and then turn around and have someone else just match it, not cool. People need to get paid for there time and effort, if your merchant company did not do a good job from the beggining them drop them!!! its not fair for a company and a representative to go to your place of business go above and beyond to give a great service and for you to turn around and have someone else get credit for there work, who pays them for all there valuable time?
