Walgreens Distribution Center Unlawful termination Orlando Florida
My name is Jon I was a mechanic at the D.C. for three years.On May 29 of 2002 I was severly injured while on the job.My right thumb was shattered below the first joint and it took aproximately four weeks to be sent to a specialist after a misdiagnosis at the clinic you are taken to when the injury occurs.
I was sent to physical therapy and final diagnosis by the surgeon I was told surgery was a must.The Supervisor in my department some days later called and said I was able to return on a light duty status .I returned to work on 7\30\02 to what was suppose to be light duty and was not.I performed my usual maintenance tasks to wich I have all my daily worksheets.This causing further irritability tomy right hand.I took a day off on 8\05\02 for the care of my hand.I returned to work on the 6th and continued my maintenance duties "again not light duty"until
8\13\02.
I went into surgery the following week and I contacted The human resources dept. some weeks later to find out tha My job was under possible termination because of the day taken off in
August.I set up a meeting with the head of the HR department and was told she would look into it.
Some weeks later I called so speak of a possible release to be informed Termination was in the process.I was given a number to call at the coorperate office to speak to the head of employee relations I have made 10 or so calls and left numerous messages with no response.Today in the mail I have received a letter of termination wich means I loose all bennifits once healed.I loose my stock options and my vacation pay.Please do explain how this works

hey, i was also an employee at the dc in illinois, they dont care about you at all, if you were hurt, child was sick, death in the family,etc!! that is how they are, i worked there for almost 5 years, i seen everything go on there , and they could give a s%&^ less about you, you are a number not a human being!! They fired me over my 6 yr old daughters illness, and still never showed proof of anything as to why i was fired!! hey, SUE THEM!! SUE THEM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! They wont get away with this crap for long, it going to go all the way with me!!!!!!!!!!
