Vernon Matthews Jr is a bishop at Redeemed Ministries formerly known as Harvest Worship Center has defrauded several people including his own church members out of thousands of dollars in a fake real estate investment & sovereignty scam. This scam has cost some people their homes, and retirement savings and some marriages to end. With Bishop's cult like charisma he made promises that he would never make good on.

I invested $75,000 in his company Quality Investors, Inc for the purchase of homes in run down neighborhoods that he would fix up and resale for a profit. I was told that I would receive 20% of each home he resold. After not receiving any funds on homes he purchased, I began to investigate and I asked around to find out that he had several investors who'd given him large sums of money with the sames promises made to them as myself.

I purchased 2 homes from Bishop in Hampton, VA he had purchased the homes for 30-40 thousand dollars a piece, after he fixed them up, the houses appraised for 130 thousand dollars, I purchased one home for 130 thousand dollars and the other for 95 thousand dollars, these homes were for him to put renters in. I was told that he was going to turn them into apartments, that was a lie, he had no intention on fixing up the homes he turned them into rooming houses where drug dealers and addicts could rent a room for no less than 190 a week. I have threatened to have Bishop arrested to get my money back. If anyone has any advice on how to pursue this matter please respond.

I would report this to the police to be referred to the District Attorney's Office  in your county and a call to the IRS Criminal Investigation Division --your local IRS office will have the number. I hope that you have some sort of proof that you paid him like a contract or a bill of sale because you will need to tell the investigators. Always send copies and save the originals for court!

Realize this man is no Christian. He is a con artist and a very bad one.

It is his business to preach and teach about the Gospel -not to make real estate deals using church money!

You might need to contact the District Attorney yourself and report this Bring the proof that this transaction took place with you.

Good luck.
