My phone was stolen by a rachet relative on August 30, 2014  I called Best Buy Geek Squad service to report the theft and file a claim and was quickly told that they didn't cover lost of stolen devices.  I called Verizon to have the services suspended and to see if I had any other options.  They have a pre-certified program but in order to purchase a phone and have it shipped to me I would have to pay a past due amount of $30.17.  I've only had this service and phone for thirty days and I couldn't make or receive phone calls in my home,

I was told when I called to complain about it that I needed to stand or sit by a large picture window to receive better reception. I called again on September 1st, and another CSR told me that their insurance provider was having open enrollment and that I could enroll, wait three days and file a claim.  She back dated the insurance date from September 1, 2014, to August 20, 2014 and she gave me a $15 credit for the lost/dropped calls in the home.  Well when I tried to file a claim with Assurion on September 4, 2013, the claim was denied because the dates were conflicting. 

They transferred me to Verizon and of course after I entered my information, the call was lost.  I called back and yet another CSR told me that what the CSR told me on the 1st was incorrect information and that Assurion can see every transaction on every account so there was no way that she could back date information.  She removed the insurance and referred me to the pre-certified phones by which are just like brand new phones with a nice price tag.  I don't have $200 - $600 to purchase a device.  I'm stuck with a service plan with no phone. 

How are these clowns allowed to screw the consumer like this?  They want the service, they want your money, but when you need them they aren't there and don't care if you terminate your contract.  Actually, they would love for you to terminate your contract because that's $350 right up front in their pockets!  It's amazing that Verizon doesn't educate their CSR's how to help the customer, how to resolve their issues, they only teach them to take their money!  Signing with Verizon was one of the biggest mistakes on my life! So, I guess my services will be suspended for awhile.  No phone, continued service.  What a waste!
