Verizon Wireless ripoff. Was not told of the buy one get one free Deptford New Jersey
I have been a Verizon wireless customer for almost 20 years. Way back when they were Bell Atlantic.
I went into the Deptford store to upgrade my plan so I can add lines for my boys. We saw a nice phone which cost $129.00. I decide to go with that but couldn't buy two at the time because of the cost. I figured I'd get another phone for my other son in a week or two.
I found out through a friend who was upgrading her phone that the phone I bought had a buy one get one free offer on it.
Now when I was there the salesman knew I needed two phones because I explained my situation. He never mentioned this deal.
So after I found this out I called the store. I spoke with some "kid" he asked when I bought the phone I told him 7-6-06. He then said yes, the sale was on then. I then asked why wasn't I told of the special, his answer was I don't know, maybe the salesman didn't know about the offer.
I said, come on, your telling me that someone who works there, sells phones and is supposed to know the products didn't know about this advertised special? He directed me to this phone saying it was one of the better units.
Needless to say, they are out of that model phone and don't have any idea if they will be coming back in.
So, instead of having a phone for each of my boys, I still have to wait to get another phone, one I should have had that day!
I won't leave Verizon because they have the best service. At least that's how I feel about it. I use my phone for business and never have any problems with connection or service. So basically I got screwed by an incompetent salesman.

I won't deal with indirect retail stores for that very reason. The best thing to do is to go online and look at the phones first. Any online discount is then a mail in rebate if you go to the store. but online your going to get the best price
