The Seller's Lounge Aka Eauctionlab eBay's "The Seller's Lounge" is a rip-off scam, debiting my account for $103.21 for nothing Carson City Nevada
I received an email solicitation to obtain a CD that would help me perform better as a seller on eBay. The solicitation and the web site to which it was linked claimed that I would be charged for shipping and handling only. There was a charge on my credit card for $3.87 on 9/24/08. I never received a CD, nor did I receive anything else from said company, via email or snail mail.
On 10/9 a cryptic looking charge for $49.97 appeared on my credit card from a company called "The Seller's Lounge", ostensibly in Nevada.
Then on 11/05, there was another charge for $49.97 from a company called "eauctionlab", which was shown to be in the UK. The phone number in Great Britain (UK) was different from the phone number on the 2 previous charges.
I called the Nevada number and spoke to a person who called herself "Heather". She told me that there was a recurring monthly charge, and said I should have received a CD. I told her I did not receive a CD but she said the monthly charges were because I "had access to their web site" since having received the CD. I repeated to no avail that I did not get any CD.
Heather seemed totally unsurprised that I had not gotten the CD, or that I was angry about having paid 2 charges of $49.97 each for absolutely nothing. She asked if I wanted to cancel, I replied in the affirmative, then she gave me a confirmation number. I got the impression she was reading from a script, and she abrubtly ended the call. I googled "The Seller's Lounge" and found this ripoffreport web site, and a plethora of complaints, all the same as mine, about said company.
I called my credit card company and explained the problem. They canceled my card, will send me a new account number, and will reverse all charges to said company.
