On 04/24/04 I purchased a waranty for a used vehicle I bought. In my contract I gave them authorization to initiate a debit of $34.95 on a monthly basis from my credit card. I called Penn and canceled my warranty in August of 2006. I also paid off, and canceled the credit card in August of 2006. I didn't catch it at first; however, I soon realized they were making withdrawals from my bank account. Keep in mind my contract does not authorize such action. I called Penn Warranty, and spent two hours being put on hold, transferred, and humiliated. I begged them to cancel the withdrawals. They refuesed. They said my contract gave them authorization to withdraw money, and I would have to write them a letter giving them a statement to cancel my policy, a reason for cancelling, my id number, sign, date, and include home address. I told them I would be happy to fax them a copy of my contract to prove they did not have this authorization, and demaded they stop withdrawing money immediately. They kept chanting their mantra about it was in the contract. FINE!

I immediately faxed them their "required" information, called and asked for a cancellation number. They informed me to call back later this week to get the number (Thanksgiving week). I called my bank of ten years to stop the unauthorized withdrawals, and they told me Penn is an authorized user on my account and they can not cancel my contract. After explaining to the intellectually gifted customer service rep at my bank the contract wasn't between them and Penn they still refused to stop withdrawals. I told them I was their customer, and they should do as I have requested, and leave any collection matter to me and Penn Warranty Corporation. I then proceded to tell the bank I would have to cancel my contract with them to stop the unauthorized withdrawals in violation of federal banking laws. They kept me CHASEing my tail.....I won't do business with this bank any longer, and please RUN from Penn.
