Tell us has your experience with this business or person been good? What's this?
I think ripoffreport.com just saved me from a dreadfull mistake! I was doing a little research on a company that responded to resume I put on Monster.com a fer days ago. Poof, I got a response. At first I was very eager. But Ive had problems with scams from monster.com before. Yes, i was a victim once. So, during my due dilligence I came upon a Post on "the Alliance" on ripoffreport.com. The person before me had the exact email that I recieved. I did some more digging on the net and yes, its one of those businesses that isnt what they seem to be. When ever you get an email for a job and that email doesnt say exactly what they do in the email or provide a webpage. then watch out! Your about to get scammed. Here is the email that I received:

Dear XXXXXXXXXXX, we are seeking to fill the position of "Sales Representative" in the Los Angeles area. After reviewing your resume online, I see that you may contain some of the qualifications necessary for a position with us. The next step in this process will be to conduct an interview at our Divisional office in Encino. I would like to schedule your interview on Monday 10/29 @ 12:45pm.

Our company has just been approved to launch a new government sponsored service to our prospects. We are very excited about this new addition to our company portfolio and we look forward to sharing this with you during your interview.

The purpose of our interview and orientation will be to get into more specific details such as compensation, company leads, training, products, etc.

Please respond back by e-mailing me (please include your name and phone number) [email protected] or contact Marc our Senior Sales Team Coordinator, so we may determine if you possess the necessary qualifications for this interview (818)784-7260.

Sincerely,

Steven M. Pato

P.S. I called the place and when I asked just what the company did and if they had any info. They become very irrate at me. Again, another sign of a scam! What "real" company gets mad at you for asking what type of business they are in? A company thats in the business of running a potential scam, that who!

P/P/S thanks again to the original poster that posted the real deal on the :the Alliance: in the first place and to this website for providing such a service!

I am running into many companies that are MLM, or similar. Now they are not bad just they should come out and say it. As for selling items, and having problems, some companies are just that way. Here is the letter I just received: Dear #######, it's no secret that the job market is down and predicted to become more challenging in the near future. Are you following the issues in the Presidential debates? Have you noticed that one of the major topics in our country is that so many Americans do not have affordable benefits? We are proud of the difference we have made for our clients. We have a tremendous lead program to ensure our team has an abundance of qualified leads from prospects that have inquired about our services. If you are sincere about interviewing for a position with our nationwide privately held company please read this invitation carefully and respond accordingly. We are seeking to fill the position of "Sales Representative" in the Los Angeles area. After reviewing your resume online, I see that you may contain some of the qualifications necessary for a position with us. I am an EX-Rep for this company - Stay Away!!!

#6UPDATE EX-employee responds

Tue, November 27, 2007

I saw the rebuttal from the current rep, and felt compelled to respond. To the current Rep: You are right, the person who posted the message did not go to the interview, and for that, I say GOOD FOR THEM! They were smart and did their research, I wish I knew about this website before I joined. I was a rep for Cornerstone America, AKA Alliance for Affordable Service for a year, and yes, I had the insurance too. This company is all about the money, and does not give a crap about the people they sell to. Their policies are very restrictive and limited, and most healt care providers are not trying to steer clear of them! This is a fact, and I have the back-up to prove it. If you want more information on this company, you can search for the "Mega Life and Health" or "National Association for the Self Employed" (NASE). They used to be under the UICI umbrella, but were recently aquired by another company. Unfortunately, it is the same old crap, just a different owner. As far as the leads go, oh yea, they are recycled - over and over again. So "Mr. Rubbutal" Shut up and go find a real/ethical job! Thank you for the original poster for having the decency to alert other unsuspecting people!

#7UPDATE Employee

Thu, November 15, 2007

I am part of the sales team with Alliance for Affordable Services and I also have the insurance coverage. I will start with this person claiming that she was seeking a sales position. What sort of credibility do you have? What can you bring to the table? Let's get real here...you did not even show up to the interview so all you have really done is given information based on a letter that was sent to you via e-mail. What exactly do you think would happen when you put your resume on the world wide web? You should be grateful that you had a response inviting you to interview. It looks as if you talked yourself out of an interview that could have changed your life. You do not know anything about the leads or what the job consists of because you simply talked yourself out of going to an interview. All of your remarks are based on some idea that you created in your mind and you are dead wrong. This company has been around for many years and prides itself on being of service to others. We help people get out of the nightmare insurance industry and put them into an affordable plan that will be more cost effective and provide better benefits. This is what our sales team does, it is very simple. As far as the coverage and service, I could not ask for any better. I had to have a major surgery that would have costed me at least 30k. I was able to choose one of the most credible surgeons in the county and had the entire procedure done for less than 5k. This includes all MRI's, doctor's visits and physical therapy. Could blue-cross, blue-shield or Kaiser do that for me???? By the way have you pulled up any of those companies? Talk about complaints. Here is the bottom line; people will complain, it is their nature and most large companies will have complaints or they are not providing the public with a service. The question you should ask yourself is 'Am I looking for a reason to make it happen or am I looking for reasons no to'? Are you similar to the the few people who complain and blame others-or are you similar to the successful people'. There are thousands of successful people in our company and thousands of our clients who are happy with our services. Why would anybody make a decision based on this person's complaint? We are proud of our career and we enjoy what we do for our clients, ourselves and our families. As far as the claim that we change our name frequently is not true. We have merged with other companies to maximize our portfolio, its smart business. What exactly are we hiding?
