Tell us has your experience with this business or person been good? What's this?

I've been using Straight Talk for many years. They claim that you get unlimited talk, text, and data for $45 per month, $44 with auto pay. Now you supposedly get 10 gigabytes of data, instead of 3 or 4. I have been using auto-pay all along, but I get charged $47.96-$48.05 every month. It should be much less than this, even with taxes included. They were giving me a small discount of $1 for a while, and when my replacement credit card was delivered (after original expired - I'm assuming every bank does this?), they switched back to the $48 amount. Their excuse was that my one-year "promotion" was up. They never said that was a promotion, they said it was a discount. I know they're lying, because my daughter has the same plan and pays less than I do. She has had straight talk as long as I have. So if her lower price "promotion" hasn't ended, why did mine?

A big part of my problem is that my service keeps slowing down, for no reason. I barely use my phone off of WiFi, but every time I do, my phone is slow, or I can't use it at all. If I have 10 GB of data, why can't I download an mms message through text, or lookup my library account, without losing my service? That shouldn't use very much data at all. When I check my data usage, there is always an orange warning message there. This makes absolutely no sense to me. I recently started researching Straight Talk, and found out they had a class action lawsuit in 2016 that I wasn't aware of. Then I found this website. I see now that many, many consumers have been tricked and ripped off by them, and I consider this theft.

I want to know if there's anything we can do about it? Can we get another class action lawsuit going? They have to be stopped. You can't reason with them, because people with accents answer the phone, and they won't listen to you. They keep telling me they're going to send signals to my phone, and that I need to use another phone for this to happen. None of it makes any sense to me, and I think that they are just saying that to get me off of the phone. I have had their service for eight years or more, and I feel they owe me a lot of money, due to their fraudulent practices. I'm hoping someone out there can help me, thank you.

Hi Lynn,

I am working with Straight Talk Wireless and I have read your post in this blog. I know how this has been very frustrating. Please be informed that the $1 discount will be eliminated if the phone is de-enrolled/deactivated. The tax charge is dependent on the state where you are at. As for your data issue, we need to troubleshoot the phone. Please allow us to help you resolve your concerns. You can contact us via chat at http://bit.ly/2gQCmUz for further assistance. We are looking forward to hear from you very soon. Thank you.
