After owning a 40" Samsung LCD television for only three weeks, I made the mistake of laying it down. The first person I spoke with said it would be covered on the warranty and had it picked up by a local repair shop.

When the repair shop phoned in what part it needed, Samsung decided that if it needed that part, then it had to have been dropped. I have explained countless times that it was NOT dropped. The repair shop gave it to me in writing what part it needed and stated "cause unknown". As the repair people stated, they can't say how it broke because they weren't there! Samsung refuses to give me anything in writing.

Could the TV have been dropped in shipment where it weakened the part and then it broke later?

Could it be a defective part?

Is there a mechanical part in the world that only breaks in ONE way?

The part that is broken costs $1900. It appears that they just do not want to spend that much and, therefore, do not consider the warranty important!
