Saban's Rent A Car This Is Beyond Belief Phoenix Arizona
We rented a car from Saban's Rent A Car in Phoenix for 5 days. We got an economy model (Chevy Cavalier). We were told it was unlimited miles and that we needed to bring it back w/as much gas in it as it had when we took it. We used a debit card and they charged us $300 plus I put down a $200 cash deposit since my son would be driving and he is only 18.
The man that was there was very rude. He implied that my son would steal the car. My sister was with us and she laughed and said that if he was going to steal a car it would not be a Cavalier. The man started yelling and using foul language and ordered her out of the office. My son was trying to read the rental agreement and the man got very angry and rushed him to sign.
I should have followed my gut and just walked out of the place, but I didn't.
During our vacation I called Saban's once and questioned the charges. The man on the phone got very angry when I questioned the amount we had been charged since the rental said only $19.95/day.
When we returned Saban's refused to give back the $200 deposit. They would not explain why. They refused to give us a copy of the rental agreement. The man I was speaking to started to call me names. I was shocked. I asked him not to yell and curse at me as I was just trying to figure out how a $19.95/day car cost $500 for 5 days. We had to catch a plane to I eventually had to leave. The man called me a mother f*cker as I walked out the door. I told him he would be hearing from my attorney.
I was so angry I was shaking. I had sent my son out of the office as I did not want the man to start calling him names as well.
When we got home we found out that Saban's Rent A Car had debited an additional $200 from our account. I called them and very politly asked what was going on. They said that the matter had been sent to legal. I said please fax or email me a copy of the rental agreement. I was told that they would do neither and the only way I could get a copy was to write and request one.
I then asked to be transfered to the legal department. I was told that they could not since it was not on site. I asked for the number and address and they gave me 3625 Indian School Rd. I said that is where I am calling. I was just there the day before and that is the address that we were at. I was then told that they would no longer discuss it over the phone and they hung up on me.
This place is a RIP OFF! Do not do any business with them. I am calling my attorney to see what can be done.
