we searched on yahoo for silk screen equipment and found the site www.silkscreenprintingeq.com

This site advertised the selling of a set of "used t-shirt screen printing equipment in like new condition". The seller even posted a deadline date where shipping will be free if purchase by that date. For $1,500 you can get 4-color 4 station screen printer, full cure dryer, screen exposure unit, and a training video.

What they did not mention on the site is that the equipment is hand-made and does not come with everything to get started. You must buy the light for the exposure unit, 3 heating elements, and a piece of glass for the exposure unit. The video is so poorly dubbed that you can watch it.

I called the phone number on the site to inquiry about the equipment. The seller, Rich Romano returned my call and said that he resides in Las Vegas. We spoke for a while about the equipment. He said they were in excellent condition and can print 4 color t-shirts. So after chatting with him for a while I decided to make my purchase.

He said he only takes cashier's check or money order in full payment prior to sending his stuff. I was able to convince him to let me send him half payment first ($750) and pay C.O.D. the other half totaling $1,500. The check was made to someone named Antoinette Romano and sent to Las Vegas.

The equipment came about two weeks later. When we open the crate that the shipment came in, it appeared that the pieces were brand new but "home-made". By this, I mean not manufactured or professionally made. The metal was roughly cut with sharp edges. Parts that we needed to assemble did not fit. Electrical wiring were constructed very poorly and dangerous.

When we got everything assembled, we realized that the exposure unit did not came with bulbs to get it to work. It also did not come up the glass top that we needed to purchase on our own. The cure unit did not came with the heating elements necessary to start. That also had to be purchased separately.

All the electrical wiring for both exposure unit and cure unit had to be rewired and fixed. They were extremely dangerous and could have caused great injuries. As of now, the cure unit is still not functional at all. As for the printer, it would be impossible to print multiple colors because it cannot register. It is not even capable of printing one color! Rick Romano after the sale did not return phone calls or reply to his email after the transaction. We have found many other consumers via the internet that encountered the same scammer and same problem.
