Now I wonder about the FTC. A month since filing the complaint and no activity! Their website won't give information and there seems to be no one to contact. The question begs - is the FTC responsive if not interactive?

During the last week of February, I read an article in the local news about legislation pending in OK. Legislation pertaining to TELEMARKETERS was working its way through St. Gov't (no call list and dead calls). The NO CALL LIST in Oklahoma would let the states residents sign up and require the TELEMARKETERS to buy the list and face penalties if they call someone on it. DEAD CALLS are computer generated calls. The TELEMARKETERS computer dials multiple numbers at a time. The first one to answer gets the pitch. When you pick up the phone is seems DEAD. After a few seconds the TELEMARKETER comes on. St. Rep. Fred Perry (R), Tulsa is sponsoring some of this legislation and working on more. I called him and explained the info in this report. He asked that I send him as much info as possible and mentioned that the current legislation is still amendable. With no laws on the books to prevent what happened to me in Oklahoma, it will be of interest to see what he can do. I'm still waiting on the FTC complaint I filed 2-28-02.

As of 2-28-02 I have filed a complaint with the FTC in Washington, DC.
In the six months since RELIANT INTERACTIVE MEDIA CORPORATION (rimc.com) of Tampa, FL, AS SEEN ON TV - PEST OFFENSE of Dallas, TX, provided a telemarketing firm - ABI MARKETING GROUP, Inc. of St. Petersburg, FL with my complete credit card number, I have tracked down the nine (9) companies that eventually received my credit card information (this includes THE BANK OF WESTMINSTER in Leeds, United Kingdom as the merchant bank).
I have found that Oklahoma has no laws or penalties against this type of RIP OFF!
I hope you'll learn, along with me, just what the FTC can do for me and possibly you. I will add the FTC's actions to this report.
