I HAVE BEEN RIPPED OFF LIKE SEVERAL OTHER PEOPLE, I HAVE READ IN THIS COLUMN. I WAS CALLED ON THE PHONE AND THOUGHT THE DEAL WAS AN HONEST ONE. I OWN TIMESHARES AND WOULD LIKE TO ONE DAY GO ON A CRUISE.

I HAD PREVIOUSLY BEEN CALLED BY ANOTHER COMPANY AND OFFERED A PACKAGE THAT DID NOT INCLUDE THE PORT CHARGES AND TAXES. THIS ONE SOUNDED GOOD AND WAS AT 299.00 PER PERSON. I COULD PAY ONE NOW AND THEN ONE IN JULY. WHICH I DID. DIDN'T THINK OF ANY MORE OF IT. RECEIVED THE VIDEO AND THE PACKAGE WITH INSTRUCTIONS. I MADE THE DATE FOR SPRING BREAK THE FOLLOWING YEAR. I WAS GETTING READY TO SEND IT IN WHEN I GOT A PHONE CALL SAYING I OWED SOMEMORE MONEY (ALMOST A YEAR LATER). I SAID THAT I DIDN'T AND THAT THEY SHOULD CHECK THE RECORDING AND THAT I SHOULD HAVE IT PAID IN FULL AND THAT THEY SHOULD SEND ME A STATEMENT SAYING SO. THEY NEVER CALLED BACK AND I NEVER GO A STATEMENT.

I SENT THE INFO IN FOR THE TRIP AND WROTE PAID IN FULL ON IT. I GOT A CALL AND I EXPLAINED ALL OF THE ABOVE. THEY SENT A POSTCARD SAYING TO CALL. I CALLED! THEY SAID THEY COULDN'T GIVE ME THE DATE I WANTED AND IF I WANTED IT EXTENDED THAT I WOULD HAVE TO PAY 58.00 FOR SO MANY MONTHS OR 87.00 FOR ANOTHER YEAR. THEY ALSO SAID THAT I OWED ANOTHER 598.00 FOR THE OTHER PERSON TO GO. THAT I ONLY PAID THE FIRST PORTION OF THE TRIP! THEY TRANSFERED ME SEVERAL TIMES TO DIFFERENT PEOPLE AND THEY COULDN'T HELP ME! THEY PUT ME ON LONG WAITS AND THEN I GOT CUT OFF. THEY ENDED THE CONVERSATION SAYING THEY DON'T GIVE REFUNDS AND THAT THEY WOULD MAKE AN APPOINTMENT FOR ME TO LISTEN TO MY RECORDING AND THEY WOULD LEAVE THE DATE AND TIME ON MY ANSWERING MACHINE AT HOME.

I ALSO EXPLAINED THAT WE WERE MILITARY AND THAT MY HUSBAND JUST GOT A CALL SAYING THAT HE IS LEAVING FOR OVERSEAS THE FIRST WEEK IN MARCH SO WE WILL NOT BE ABLE TO MAKE THE TRIP NO MATTER WHAT. THE LADY JUST REPEATED THE INITIAL RECORDING OF "IF YOU NEED ANY ASSISTANCE WITH YOUR RESERVATION PLEASE CALL THE 1800 #.

OBIVIOUSLY SHE SAYS IT QUITE OFTEN BECAUSE IT SOUNDED REPETIOUS AND THERE WAS NO WAY FOR HER TO HELP ME. YOU JUST CALL BACK AND THEY WILL TRANSFER YOU FROM PHONE TO PHONE. NO REAL ANSWER TO YOUR PROBLEM AND FOR GET THE REFUND. I WOULD NOT TRAVEL DOWN TO THAT AREA OR WITH THEM. NO TELLING WHAT SITUATION WOULD BE WAITING FOR YOU ONCE YOU ARRIVED! AND IF YOU DON'T HAVE MONEY TO TAKE CARE OF YOURSELF YOU CAN END UP IN A REAL BIND! THIS COMPANY IS RIPPING OFF AMERICANS EVERY DAY.
