Tell us has your experience with this business or person been good? What's this?

Warning to all-Public Storage is the WORST storage company in the company. You will regret it if you use them for anything. Once you move in the company will hit you with usurious fees and charges, and there is nothing you can do about it.

I was traveling and there was no Public Storage near me to make a payment. Because I do not pay anything online, Public Storage charged me $20.00 to pay my $50.00 bill. When I complained to the BBB, Public Storage responded by raising my rent!

The company claims I should have read their contract-that right there in the small print is authorization for them to charge these fees and raise my rent whenever they like. That may be true-but what is legal and what is right are different things. Charging your customers to pay your bill is unconscionable. When you talk to their customer service "reps" they will be the rudest people you can imagine. Public Storage is one of those mega-corporations that could not care less about their customers or doing the right thing. They will ding you with fees and rental increases whenever and wherever they can.

I have used many local smaller storage companies over the years, and never had the problems I have had with Public Storage. Avoid Public Storage at all costs. I hope this message helps someone, for there is nothing the company will do for me.

Not only are you a company employee, but like most of their employees you are an idiot! You gave almost word for word the company answer to me both on the phone and in an email from them! You are obviously reading the exact same script! Too funny.

As a further update to this horrendous company, a few months back I was traveling once again. This time I was in Wisconsin, and I tried but could not even pay in person because there are NO Public Storage facilities in Wisconsin. Again, with no secure internet, the company forced me to pay another 20 fee to pay my bill over the phone!! I am currently working on another slew of letters to bbb, and attorney generals in both states. This company may get away with stealing 20 dollars for me ever time I travel, but I will not make it easy for them and I encourage other poor saps, er..I mean Customers, or Public Storage to do the same.

Wow. Public Storage can't even respond as themselves.

Once you move in the company will hit you with usurious fees and charges, and there is nothing you can do about it.- You were charged $20 to pay your bill because YOU didn't want to pay it by any of the "free" ways.  You choose to pay by phone which is an OPTIONAL service.   It was your choice to not pay on-line.  It was YOUR choice to not pay in advance before you left on your trip.  It was your choice to not mail a payment in.  No, contrary to your report there was plenty of things you could have done to avoid the fee, but YOU just choose not to do them.

Now, of course you are going to go on how "unsafe" the Internet is because of all of the Identity Theft.  Well guess what the same type of database they store your information from the web site is the same database they saved your information when you made a phone call to pay your bill.

As for them raising your rent.  Yes it is in the contract you signed saying you read and agreed to all of the terms.  So if you wanted a locked in rate instead of the month to month rate all you would have had to do is sign the 12 month lease and pre-pay for the entire year.
