Complaint Review: Privileges - Nationwide

This is a large scam and it began with Vital Solutions, then Value Plus, and then I was brought to this point.

February 11,2006 By this time I already knew of two companies I never heard of on my statement, but could not find any infor on them but have traced the one email from Value Plus to Damrk.com.

Today I have returned to my statements, and in going over them again I have noticed a third company named Privileges. It had the same listing style on the statement, a name and an 800#

February 13, 2006 I called them and learned they are some kind of medical discount membership, discounts on eye care prescriptions, on heath & beauty aides, and much more (she described). I told her we did not order this membership, we currently had two other memberships on our statement from two other companies we did not order.

I learned it had the same common factors as the others. So I knew all three wrre operating off of the same computer network, or the same customer database, or of course both.

I wanted to test reaction thids time, rather than just jump. when she asked if i wanted to close the accont I told her "No"

Immediately she replied, I do not understand you said you did not order it and have cancelled two others. So why would you want to keep this open if you did not order it?"

Answer:'two reasons, I feel it is already paid for for and it is not like that money is ever coming back, and two, I plan to file a dispute with my bank and a report with the Attorney General's Office and in their investigations if they require an active account to assist them in their investigations then we have this one to help them out.

she said "wait one moment, stay on the line i will be right back" she put me on hold - mute, she must have bumped a button cause i can kind of hear two woman talking - not quite yelling but a panicy discussion - I just counldn't make out what was being said.

A few minutes later she returned and told me we are going to make you a full refund of $109.85 and as of now your account is closed. thank you and good bye

Now that is a first, a company that wants to close your acount and make a refund even when they are told to keep the account open.

I also took notice at this point, all three were eager to close the accounts and make a refund without a process. I mean, if I return something to K-Mart, for example, there is a process to go through to make that return. Here, there is no process with any of the three companies. They each are very ellusive, and operte solely from an 800# in addition to all the other common factors I stated in my previous report #2

Another important factor is all three deny an association with the others. In fact, when I called back Vital Solutions to check on my refund ( an excuse t call them) I specifically asked " if they are associated with a company called Damark International"

The woman, Kathy, told me the get that a lot about different companies but that one she never heard of, and no we are not.

I thought, Odd, because if I were a lawyer Iwould know of other lawyers in my field, and if there is one who is King ofthe industry I would recognize the name when I hear it. So if Vital Solutions is in the telemarketing business they surely would have heard of Damark, the king of telemarketing, and especially after the mess thay had in '99. so total denial is the same to me as trying to distant oneself from the scene of the crime.

there is a downside of all of this. I have a direct connection from Membership service who is Value Plus, to Provell and Damark. But I do not have a direct link from the other two. what I do have is a list of common factors despite their denials. and in the realm of odds it is more likely than not that neither of these companies is directly associated with the other, but that all three are of Provell, who is of Damark. This is what I am going to think at this point, based on all the facts I have at this point that connects them through those common factors.

As far as the promised refunds they began to appear in my account. But that did not answer anything in mymind, I still had to complete my quest.
