My dog was groomed by the nephew of the owner. The owner claims to be more gentle and humane in order to get your business yet does not ever groom any of the animals herself. She allows very young and poorly trained relatives to handle your pet without any supervision by her. She claims to be too ill from a cat bite to properly run her business or supervise her employees. The nephew cut my dogs ear while grooming her and hid the injury with a bow. We thought that the hair was tangled when she got the bow off but didn't think there was anything wrong. About 10 days latter we found a scab under her hair and took her to the vet. $130 later in antibiotics and a clip and clean for her wound, the vet told us that her ear had been cut. We asked if it could have happened while she was scratching at the bow and she said that it was a cut made by something sharp.

I took the dog into their shop to show them and the first words out of the nephew's mouth were, "I didn't do that". First he claimed the scissors were never used on my dog. When I told him that her ears had been trimmed he then changed his story to say that he only used scissors on the back of her ear. At this point I just left the shop disgusted by their pathetic excuses and asked that the owner call me. The owner, Marilyn Haldane, did call me back and without ever seeing the damage that had been done to my dog said that my vet was lying and just blaming a groomer for an injury that couldn't have possibly happened or have been caused by their actions. She met me at her shop later that afternoon and said that the injury was caused by a cyst that my dog had to have had before we brought her in. Weird, since she told me on the phone that even a small mole would be documented by her oh-so-conscientious groomers, when none ever was. Then she threw out a few more ridiculous ideas and ended by saying that I had imagined the whole thing and that this was just "your emotional issue".

I posted this information to my Facebook page and found that 2 other completely unrelated people had had experiences similar to mine, either by being lied to or by having their pets injured. She never takes responsibility for her incompetent nephew who hurts animals while unsupervised in her shop. She should not be allowed to have any contact with animals. EVER.

I talked with this distraught woman and heard her concerns. We did not injure her pet in anyway. The dog scratched at the bow which the woman told us to put in and he made the skin bleed underneath. I don't know why her vet told her it was our fault. There were no clippers or scissors used on the dogs head at all. I understand that she was upset and wanted to blame someone, but we were not responsible for the pets injury. I stand by our statement that we are kind and gentle.
