Onrebate.com - TigerDirect - OnRebate does the Systemax dirty work, rebate ripoff. Miami Florida
I purchased an item at a local TigerDirect retail store. At the checkout counter, they ask for your phone number. When my name and address came up on the screen I told the clerk that was my old address. (We had moved.) They said it didn't matter and printed the receipt.
When I submitted the rebate to onrebate.com, it was denied because the address on the receipt didn't match my current address. It was STILL denied after I told them it was TigerDirect's mistake. And you have no recourse. Just try to talk to a real person at onrebate.com.
Onrebate.com takes all the heat (just look at all the complaints on this site) while TigerDirect looks innocent. But wait...
Now I find out that it Onrebate.com and TigerDirect seem to be the SAME COMPANY. They have the SAME LEGAL ADDRESS, the same officer signs the annual report for the FL Secretary of State. The officers of the company are also the officers of Systemax, TigerDirect's parent company. Check it out. The corporate records are online with the FL Sec of State.
Do a traceroute. Tigerdirect.com and Onrebate.com resolve to the SAME IP ADDRESS.
Of course Systemax and the Leeds family won't admit they run Onrebate.com because Onrebate.com has such a horrible reputation for ripping people off.
