Tell us has your experience with this business or person been good? What's this?
When I purchased the home I told the company that I did not want to exceed what I could afford and was told that between the lot rent and the house payment it would not exceed my $800 income and was told the lot rent was $180 and the house payment being $668 and that was fine for me but, then after the home was moved to the lot, I went to sign the lot rent agreement and they informed me that the lot rent was only $180 for the first 3 months and then it would go up to $350 after that they told me that was a special that they had with oakwood for moving the home here, but oakwood did not inform me of this, and that was very deceiving of the company to do this. And now it is going to be very hard for me to sell my home, so I feel very let down by this company and would like more information as to how I go and make a complaint on this company.

Thank you.

When a Home is not a House

Well hello it is Texino. Today we are working in the Lab at Shands-Jacksonville and we would like to see if we can do any thing for Lisa. The main thing we must know is when the contract was signed? If it is within the three day cooling off period, you can just cancel and walk away. If not things may be troublesome. Now, just because the sales people did not tell you about the balloon on the lot rent, it does not mean that you did not sign a paper agreeing to it. You should try and locate the paper work in question and see what it says and what you actually signed. Sometimes we have trouble because buying Trailer is a lot more like buying a car than a house and therefore sleazy car dealer tricks are often employed. Now I hope that your total income is greater than $800 because your lot rent and home payment is going to total about $1000. If you need to make more money, you do have three months to get another job or a second job to make up the difference. I sincerely hope that ED may come up with some way to help but it really is possible that you are legally responsible for this debt. I am not saying that you were not taken advantage of, I just feel that these ales people are very clever at getting away with this sort of thing. If you go to the search engine google.com and search under "Florida gov" you will be able to find a link to Consumer Affairs. Hold on, I'll get it for you. Here: http://www.state.fl.us/dbpr/lsc/mobilehomes/index.shtml If you go there you will find out what your options might be. Try and work it out and don't be one of the people whose life is always about to collide with a brick wall. There are ways out here, but it may be better in the long run for you to take a part time job two nights a week or maybe get a room mate. I can't say because I do not know you. Anyway let Texino know what happens and I will try to help if there is a specific thing I can do. [DELETED]
