I shut off my nextel today, and the reason why is actually a good story.Their customer service is pathetic! The only phone company i know who actually has hours for customer service. Hey, im paying you for a service, how about you provide it and help me at my convience_NOT YOURS! Maybe if you were paying me then i whouldnt mind calling you in the middle of my busy afternoon. I had a plan at about $59 i think, i went a bit over my minits and my bill came to about $339. I mentioned this to a friend of mine and he mentioned that his provider took all the overage charges away when that happened to him because his whole fammily has been with them for over 5 years. Now after recieving this bill i changed my plan to the $200 unlimited everything account drainer thing (LOL). Then a few days later i called back, i was on the phone with several diffrent people for over an hour, i climed as high up as i chould go, apparently the head supervisors in the service centers arent allowed to talk to customers on the phone and i guess there was nobody else i chould call (as i make the j*****f motion lol). Now, reguardless of the fact that this company was going to get $2400+ out of me over the next year, they chouldnt eat $200 to help me out. When you renew a contract you have to pay a month in advance too, my next bill was going to be near $500, i chouldnt afford that-flat out. They chouldnt even use my new plan for the previous month and make it $200 for me (and almost any company will do this under these circumstances im sure) aparently there was absolutly nothing i chould do. So i went out and picked up a new phone with a new company, I figured i chould eat the $200 termination fee-its worth getting the customer service i should be getting. And besides why should i pay a company money when all they do is piss me off? Then AFTER i got my new phone with the much better company i called nextel to cancel and guess what. Suddenly they can take away ALL the overage charges and make my bill and even $60 for me NO PROB! I cancelled it anyway, they wont have a monopoly over the direct connect function for much longer. I honestly cant wait to sit back and watch em sink! They say "screw the customer" and i say "screw the company". I cant wait to watch em crumble when other companies release 2 way. Ill be the first one looking at their new rate plans just so i can laugh.
