When I wrote this report (five years ago), I was applying for a job, not for a school. Even if your school is covered 100% by government grants (which I highly doubt), your "Career Counselor" still tricked me into thinking I was applying for a job and then tried to make me feel insecure about my experience. Your school's recruiting practices are unethical, and your "Career Counselors" are rude and dishonest. I am now in a much better position at a Silicon Valley tech company than I could have ever hoped for at the time, and I didn't need your "school" to get here. I also have a friend who I later found did go several thousands of dollars into debt from your "school" and also lost his job as a Network Engineer that he was placed in by your school, because he was not skilled enough for it. Maybe that reflects poorly on him as much as your school, but the association is still there. Aspiring tech workers: Trust your instincts. Avoid this "school."

New Horizons CLC likes to prey on low income and unemployed people. They're an outdated company just profiting their career mill style company. Employers even look down on this place.

This report is completely misleading and is easily identifiable as such. If this individual simply listened to the Career Counselor before pre-judging the situation from his own previous (and what sounded like unethical) experiences in sales.
First, all of what the representative offered the potential applicant was completely correct, and is still true today. Our employees at New Horizons work on a daily basis to identify skill gaps and/or other barriers to including physical limitations that will hinder the individual’s ability to maintain or gain advancement with in their careers.
We are trained extensively to design a personalized education plan using our nationally recognized aptitude assessment and interest evaluation. This is done with the goal in mind that the individual rebrand themselves, with newly gained certifications in the Project Management, Medical Office Administration, Database Administration, Networking and Cyber Security fields.
We offer the most up-to-date and relevant Industry Vendor Certifications, and comprehensive career services with the goal of teaching the individuals how to market themselves successfully to employers. Our career services do not stop with the first placement, our placement services are available to the individuals life long, given that their certifications gained at New Horizons are still current and they are in good standing.
New Horizons is a global company with more than 300 locations in 70 countries, and has been in business for 34 years. And within this time have helped more than 30 million people worldwide.
Just to be clear, in order to qualify and maintain good status with the state by state Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act Grant, New Horizons must maintain and are accountable for a matrix of trained, certified and placed candidates nationally just to keep the funding approval. I can say, as a medically retired 16 year Veteran of the Army, if this were broken I would be the first to say something, but it is not. This guy simply projected his own sales prejudice on the Career Counselor who was speaking the truth.
