Tell us has your experience with this business or person been good? What's this?
I recently read an article posted on this site about the unreal number of resignations recieved at the TLPD in the past few years since Chief Cole's arrival. While I don't share the same opinion as its author, I do agree that something needs to be done.

It is blatently obvious that there are problems within the department that deserve attention. I especially don't agree with the statement that there are no good cops left in the force. Consider this, there are 8 officers not including the cheif to work three different 12 hour shifts.

Many officers are working 16 or 18 hour shifts at a time. They work sick, hurt and exaughsted. There aren't enough officers to cover the shifts that help protect the people in this little town. The officers get bashed for every little ticket that anyone in this town gets, but at the same time, when some small thing like someone riding a snowmobile across your lawn happens, you are on the phone to them asking for action.

Open up your tiny little minds and give the guys and girl some credit. While I understand that getting a speeding ticket is not something pleasant, accept that you are driving to damb fast and shut up.

I too drive to fast but when I get pulled over, I shut up and contain, I don't make up excuses that the police are assholes just for doing their job. That officer may very well be writing a ticket to someone who may have hit and killed someone. So give it up for the people who bust their asses all the time to be there for your calls when someone is breaking down your door or beating up your kid. When you get pulled over next time, instead of giving out excuses and giving the officer s**t, just accept that he or she is doing their job.

On top of all of this, I do agree that some action is in order. I think that the authority in the department is being used without regard for anyone else. Many great officers have left the department due to the authority figure that is in charge. While I have respect for the Cheif, I think that the village board along with the community should see all of these resignations as a BIG problem that needs some focused attention.

I also think that some officers deserve commendation!! There is one in particular that busts his a*s constantly for this force and is in many ways the stronghold behind much of what keeps this force together. Most of what he does goes unseen though and gets no credit, but I am proud of him.

I am not going to reveal his name because the evil people who love to create drama in this town would have their way with him and that is not fair. I do however, want anyone who reads this to know that there is fair, honest, hard working officers still here.

So anyone that wants to tell me different, think about how important those officers are to your safety in this town. To the officer's still hard at work, keep up the good work. To the officer's who have left the department, you are missed and appreciated. So have respect for these people!
