I signed up for services with Mydivorcepapers.com January 31st. I filled out my paperwork for a divorce and paid $159 dollars and was told it would be 7 to 10 days before i could print them out online. Then i was told for $299 more, they would serve my soon to be Ex-spouse and file with the court, I also signed up for this service.

A month in, i was never able to get through to a customer service rep, sometimes holding for up to 2 hours, leaving call back numbers and even filing a ticket. My ex-spouse was never served. I finally filed a complaint with the company and demanded a refund. I never heard back. Last week, after holding for 2 hours and 3 minutes, i finally got through to a representative. He said he saw my ticket for a refund, placed me on hold, then came back and said he apologized, i do qualify for a refund and they will process it with in 24 to 48 hours.

I received a email stating that $299 had been refunded to my credit card. Days later, I still have not received the money back. I was told to call my bank. I called my bank, they stated that they would see a credit and there has not been any credit to my account. I am now unable to reach a rep, access my account nor am i getting responses to my complaints.

Christine, this is why no one should EVER use these do-it-yourself "kits". Most importantly, you going into this naked, meaning without an attorney! If your spouse wants to play some games, you're out of luck because you have nobody representing you! You don't do your own dental work, do you??? I'm not trying to drum up business, just trying to help you! I don't do family law! Time is of the essence here. If you need to file a dispute with the credit card company, that might be a good next step but you will need to do that within the legally required time frame in regards to card disputes. Again, if you would have used local counsel, you would have had a physical place to go. Doing a divorce filing is not just an excercise in paper pushing. There are some very real and possibly life long consequences if you do not properly protect your rights and interests. In a divorce there are no winners but if not done properly, there could be a loser. I don't want that loser to be you!
