Today, I noticed a charge on my credit card statement and decided to go through a search engine to see what exactly the charge was for. The search engine brought up "RIP OFF COMPANY", "FRAUD!", etc. I immediately read that this company has been doing this for a few YEARS now and today, January 8th, 2003, I'm also a victim...a victim of a company who STOLE my credit card information from WHEREVER (?) and decided to charge me $149.95. I called my cc company and complained and they, in turn, told me to call the 877 number listed. The woman told me that if I call, they'll reimburse me because it has happened before.

I called the number and spoke to a TODD Id#16130 who began telling me that a membership I'm enrolled in is upgrading and the new fee will be $149.95. NO SUCH THING! And this is after I had to tell him my phone number, my address and my husbands name. I told him I'm on the "NO SOLICIT" list and I should not expect to see any mailing or receive any calls to purchase anything. I was extremely upset and asked how they can steal information and wrongfully charge innocent people for obscene amounts of money without authorization. I almost could hear the man laugh. After he told me I'll get it reimbursed on my cc, I still was not satisfied.

I called and spoke to the security manager of my cc company and she cancelled my current cc number and will be sending me new cards. I will also need to fill out some forms and they will take the charge off the cc. How is it possible this company is STILL AROUND??

I received a $9.99 billing from the same company. I'm glad I didn't have $149.95 like you. That would have been harsh. Well, I called the number and found out that I apparently ordered a discount service through Classmates.com. I don't ever remember approving my credit card to be used. I don't know how they think they can do that. Fortunately, it was only a $10 loss and I cancelled that "service." Maybe the $149.95 charge was made a similar way. Good luck.
