Complaint Review: Mrs.cleans Pump-it-off - Sumter South Carolina

Where to start with this company? Well May 7, 2009 I got a nice lady from Pumppers at my door she was showing me there product. She stated that the product helps people off the streets, she began to tell me the story of her in a gang and Pumppers helped her start this new life.

She began to show me what this all purpose cleaner can do. She was using a lime green color product. She used it on my door mat, my side walk, she even sprayed it in her mouth to show me that it was NON-TOXIC. She told me that if I brought the product that I would be a tax write off because I was helping kids like her.

So I was in the process of buying this product, she told me that she didn't have any of the lime green product she was using left, she only had a reddish color one. The bottle says $49.95. After I was calling in to place my order that was pretty much complete the operator told me ok that's $58.46. My card was already ran. I asked the lady why? She then started there is $3.50 for tax and $5.00 for S&H.

By then I was ready for the sales lady to leave. She wouldn't leave until I offered her a water and cookies she saw on my counter. I started to wonder what she ready sold me because she was acting weird by the time she left. I was still kind of excited to try this product mainly for my carpet and leather couch. I mixed it up the way she told me she did hers.

I tried it on my couch NO results. I tired it on my carpet really didn't do much. I tried it in my tube NO results. I tried it my side walk NO results.By this time I am pretty up set. I thought I was getting a good product non-toxic and helping people out but I really just got SCAMED. I started to read the bottle!!!! WOW. I was shocked. The bottle says NON-TOXIC, but on the very back under the directions on how to dilute. It says CONTAINS BUTYL CELLOSOLVE CAS#111-76-2.

I looked up this ingredient on thegoodhuman.com. And it stated that Butyl Cellosolve is a chemical that is found in a wide variety of household cleaning agents - glass cleaners, oven cleaners, general degreasers, spot removers, air fresheners, and carpet cleaners, among other things. It is a colorless liquid with a sweet, ether-like odor and is manufactured by the Eastman Kodak company.

It is also known as butyl glycol, Dowanol, Bane-Clene and ethylene glycol monobutyl ether (EGBE), which has made it on to the list of California's toxic air substances, and some animal studies indicate that it produces reproductive problems, such as testicular damage, reduced fertility, death of embryos and birth defects. In humans, it can irritate mucous membranes and cause liver and kidney damage. Butyl cellosolve is also a neurotoxin that can depress the nervous system and cause a variety of associated problems.

By this time im ready upset. I have a child, im pregnant and have a puppy. So I start checking ALL my house hold products I thought they were non-toxic. Not one of my other products have the chemical in it. I remember the lady telling me that if I didn't like the product the I could send in my receipt and get a refund. The very next morning I sent my receipt in and a letter stated pretty much how I feel and wish for my refund.

May 12, 2009 Mrs. Greg called. She stated that she got my letter and she will be refunding me my money and she would give me 8 dollars extra to send that product back to her. I agreed. A week later I still have no deposit in my bank from them. I didn't send in the product because I didn't have the money she promised, also the post office stated that I COULDN'T send this product through the mail due to the chemical. They stated that this chemical reacts to heat and could explode!

So once again I called Mrs. Greg again. She wasn't in the office so I spoke with a Anne. I told her what was going on. She acted as if she didn't know the chemical was in there and said I wonder if the owners know that. So the very next morning I called Mrs. Greg again. She said that she have already deposited the money to me on May 13 2009. She began to get very rude. She asked if I sent the product back, I told her what the post office told me. She called me a liar. She then stated that she wasn't going to give me the money to send the product back to her. Which I just caught her In a lie herself because she said she already gave me deposited the money to me. She then hung up on me. I called back and she was out of the office.

I then called my bank to see what they could do for me. They have nothing from they posted or one hold from them. They told me to try and get a written agreement that she had deposited back to me on may 13,2009. So we could dispute it. So again I called Pumppers Mrs. Greg was still out of the office. I spoke with Mary and asked if she could email me that they deposited it back to me. She agreed.

Today is May 27 2009, Called Mrs. Greg again. She was very very very rude to me. I asked for the email and she said her system was down. She then hung up on me. I called back. I stated to her what bank said they don't have anything from them. She said I was harassing her and she had other customers to deal with.. I asked her to just give me my refund and it would be over. She stated that she had already refunded it back to me on the 14 of may. I told her you said you refunded it back to me the 13 of may. She then hung up on me again.

I AGAIN called back. I asked her to read me the cc number that they refunded my money back to. She said she had to call me back. I asked her to due it then and she was very rude so I then stated to her that she had until June 13,2009 before the bank disputes this with there company. She said she didn't need to speak to me just my bank. She then hung up again. Im at a loose with this company I don't even know how they have a license to sell.

I don't want this company to continue to get away with this. There company is a scam, they are rude, and they are fraudulent. I just wanted to warn people DON'T answer your door!!! don't use there product its all a lie!
