 I purchased a lawn mower a couple years ago and I paid for the extended warranty, my lawn mowers bar code was scanned and I was told everything was good. We'll when I needed service I'm told that I need the receipt with the purchase date and cost. Oh by the way your receipt faded because the way it's produced. I was told that I could look thru my bank records to find the purchase, I made countless purchases. When I asked why was the bar code scanned at purchase I was told the information is dropped from the store after 3 months ( how many lawn mower break in 3 months) If you have your faded receipt to get the date of purchase and cost they keep those records for 5 years. But you can't pull up my purchase and extended warranty by the bar code you scanned at purchase with my serial number and model number.
