Judy Lynn Poetry.com I submitted a poem to this website in the 1990s. I borrowed money in US dollars from an uncle so I could make the required payment via registered cheques issued by the local post office. Los Angeles, California
So I got ripped off the first time in the 1990s when I had just begun building a career teaching literature in college. I was very young and naive. I wanted a platform for my work and found Poetry.com
It felt like I finally had my answer. As mentioned earlier, I borrowed money in US dollars from an uncle so I would get a copy of the book where my poetry was supposed to have been incorporated. Now, more than a decade later, I still don't have the book.
Anyway, I tracked down the website because I still believed that the deal was real and signed up (again) as I had lost all my earlier account info with them and introduced myself as having submitted such and such poem and that I was trying to find it on their site. I never got a response.
Well, I guess I did, in the form of another offer which says nothing about my earlier submission.
The message is:

Are they for real? Well, until they tell me what happened to the book and my poem, am not falling for the same old trick.
