My complaint is that I spoke with Jason for at least 20 minutes via chat to find out more about this company, and if they could help me get a car financed. I was VERY specific with the type of vehicle I wanted. Jason assured me that it shouldn't be a problem to get what I wanted, and to get me financed. So I went ahead and applied for a loan.

When I called the company back today (August 16, 2006), a real jerk who was VERY unprofessional and VERY rude and condescending to me...also hanging up the phone on me SEVERAL times - this guy is named Tom Dorlig...he is now telling me they do not have the kind of car I wanted in my area.

IF JASON HAD INFORMED ME OF THIS, I would not have let them run my credit. So THEY TOOK MY CREDIT APPLICATION UNDER FALSE PRETENSES and I am reporting them.

I am VERY cautious about having people run my credit, so I ask alot of questions first to pre-qualify the company to see if they meet my criteria and meet my needs BEFORE applying.

When I contacted other loan companies, I asked them the EXACT SAME QUESTIONS questions I asked Jason. And their answers to me were either, "no, we cannot finance that type of vehicle"...or "yes, we can get that car for you if you qualify for the loan". If they told me "NO"...then I did not apply with them; I moved on until I found a company who could help me. Based on what Jason told me, I was led to believe they could help.

I am very unhappy not only with the abusive treatment I received from Tom Dorlig, but because they lied to me, took my credit under false pretenses, and now I have an unnessary inquiry on my credit report that would not be there now if it weren't for them giving me false information!

Harbor Credit helps people get the credit they deserve

We're sorry that Harbor Credit (harborcredit.com) could not help Tammy specifically. Harbor Credit helps tens of thousands of people every month buy a new home, car or secure credit. We're proud of our efforts and strive to help everyone we can. Unfortunately, there are a small few circumstances were we can't help someone. This can be frustrating. Per the chat transcript and recorded conversation between Tammy and Harbor Credit she was told numerous times how Harbor Credit (harborcredit.com) is not the actual lender or dealer she would be getting the loan from. She was also told her credit file would ONLY be pulled if a dealer or lender was able to provide credit based on her pre-application questionnaire. Based on her questionnaire Harbor Credit was unable to fulfill Tammy's request. Being turn down for a loan can be quite upsetting. We regret that Harbor Credit could not provide a loan for Tammy, but at no time were any Harbor Credit employees trying to be rude or unprofessional. Harbor Credit (harborcredit.com) helps tens of thousands of consumers every month with life changing events such as securing an auto loan when they've been turned down elsewhere. People who have been forced into bankruptcy for various reasons (such as divorce or debilitating health issues) deserve a second chance. Harbor Credit is proud to offer this chance to re-establish credit to these people. Regretfully, we can't help everyone.
