Update May 2006 - The legitimate firm operating under the name Freedom Benefits" (freedombenefits.org) continues to receive telephone calls from consumers around the country about credit card scams carried out under the name "Freedom Benefits". This scam has now been operating for at least four years. We are not associated with this and we do not handle any credit card transactions. Problems are referred to the BBB and state Attorney Generals' offices.

I just wanted to clarify that my legitimate business association doing business as "Freedom Benefits" is in no way connected or associated with a scam artist in the Philadelphia area operating under a similar name. The scam involves some type of credit card. The legitimate Freedom Benefits is not involved in issuing credit cards. The legitimate Freedom Benefits is an employee benefit plan adviser to small businesses. My firm has never been involved in any consumer complaint. I have spoken with the Philadelphia police, the local FBI office investigating the scam and Eastern Pennsylvania Better Business Bureau's attorney to clarify this issue of mistaken identity. I am certain that the police and local authorities are convinced that there is no connection between my firm and the scam.
