FPL is a company that has no reason nor do they care to provide customer service. It is not like they need customers, because customers have no other choice other than to use FPL. I was set up on autopay and I had a personal problem where my autopay for the month of June activated but I realized that once it got processed it would be declined.

I called customer care to explain the situation before the account was processed and declined, and I asked them that I would like to make a payment in another form so the account would saty in good standings. I was told that because the autopay was activated it looked that I had a zero balance and their system would not allow me to make a payment if I didn't owe anything. I explained that it looks like I have a zero process but by the next day it would be returned, I wanted to make a payment to have credit on the account. I was not fortunate to get anyone that would be friendly or helpful.

I called back the following day or the next day after that. I was told that my accouint is on cash only status because I had a retun payment. I spoke to 2 reps and 2 supervisors and not one of them were able to treat me decent.  They told me it's my problem that my account was on cash status only and it's because I had insuffecient funds. It didn't matter to anyone of them that I tried calling before the account got retuned and they said they could not take the payment even then. . The first supervisor sent me on to make a payment on their automated phone system, and after going thrugh all of that my cash only status didn't allow me to make a payment.

I have 2 kids and a wife and in the Miami summer heat cannot even thing about not having electricity, and I have spent 2 days trying to make a payment amd trying to make sure I stay in good standing, yet, FPL system won't allow me to take care of anything, and the reps were abusively rude.

When I finally was able to make a payment I had to pay a fee to an outside company that took payments for FPL and with out any notice, not even from the 4 people I spoke to before they charged me a $30 dollar fee for a return transaction.

I called today which is about 20 days later but before my next due ddate to ask why I was billed more than my past due. I was told because I had a retun transaction. I said I understood that, but I am a customer that called before that transaction was returned to try to fix that situation and again I begun to be treated horribly rude by another rep. When he heard my voice get a bit stern, you can imagine, my pactience by now it at the limit, he siad with no concern that he would pass me over to a supervisor as if I was wasting my time being upset with him, and he perfered to pass me to a supervisor that gets paid more than him to handle me. 

Being cash only staus is clearly a punishment to the customer because you can only pay with money orders or if you want to use your debit card, which is the easist way to make a payment just about anywhere, you have to pay a fee to an outside company. 

Not to mention that I have been paying over 100% increase to my first year in this same address only 3 years ago. That is a significant raise which FPL can never explain or justify.

FPL might as well where a mask, they rob you then treat you like dirt! I would never use FPL or recommend them to anyone I know if I could. I'm here today because I can't belive they can get away with treating their customers this way.
