sometimes there are cases where service is delayed or not provided in a timely manner. But why would anyone agree to have a contract purchased without reading or knowing for sure what it covers first? If the contract had been read in this case it would have been known that in real emergencies service is provided asap. Why wasnt the warranty company called back when the technician said he could not service until wednesday? As far as the service fee of $45.00 that is due when the technician arrives at the home, and that is listed plainly in english on the contract. contracts are also available in spanish if needed. and as always there is two sides to everything, but i'm sure that when the customer service representative was "not friendly or understanding" that the customer was also not friendly or understanding. maybe the person you were speaking to was new, or just didnt understand what was meant by "water is coming out by the washing machine drain". the contract is the most important thing that needs to be read as soon as it is received. Who else is going to cover the systems and appliances in your home in so called "emergency" situations?

well, we bought a home and it was suggested we buy a warranty from this company as well. we moved in on Saturday and by Sunday night everything in the sewer drains was backing up in the house. i thought , great we have a home warranty, so i called the 800 24hours a day number, what a joke. finally Monday evening they sent someone out from Angel Plumbing who walked around the house, said he couldnt find a cleanout, that they didnt pay him to look for a cleanout, asked for his $55.00(which I refused to pay) and left. i called an emergency plumber,he pulled the toilet and then decided that my pipes were broken under the house i had just purchased. I called First American many times and spoke to several different people who had no idea who the previous person was I spoke to,but they were more concerned about there not being a cleanout there for their "technician" to work from and wanted me to get one installed FIRST before they would send someone out.. Day 2, still can't live in my house, several calls from someone there named Judy, who won't tell me what her title is, and telling me someone will be out this evening.then i get a call from some guy at First American saying he was going to "take care" of my problem, then he explained that anything under the foundation had only a $500.00 payout. which means if it cost $4000.00 like they thought it might, First American was only paying out $500.00 and I would pay the rest.My realtor even got involved calling someone named Ashley who was supposed to be in authority there, well , Judy didnt know Ashley , but they finally called the same company i called the previous night, and they came and fixed it.. my total out of pocket for this "warranty" or nightmare was $600.00 to clean a simple clog out by the street... Now my pool has a problem, its been 3 days, their pool company shows up today and leaves to go get parts , says he MIGHT be back tomorrow. these people at First American know exactly what they are doing, taking your money, doing nothing if possible, and very little if necessary, giving everyone the run around hoping you will get tired of waiting and call someone else to fix your problem at your own expense. WHAT THEY ARE DOING SHOULD BE AGAINST THE LAW !!
