This agency keeps calling me & leaving a message about calling in regards to an account in unsatisfactory status. I don't have any of those. I finally pressed the 9 (prompt) and got a rep...Dale Birch of GDS Mediation regarding a First Consumers National Bank/Spiegels account. I informed him I had one of those almost 20 yrs ago and it had been paid off in full over almost 20 yrs ago. I pd it off prior to being married & asking for proof. I told him of course if it has been that long that I no longer have proof besides that it's not on my credit report because had I owed it ...trust it would have been reflected at least that far back. I had also reached out to FCNB-Speigel last yr when another agency tried the same thing and they responded back with the following:

We apologize for the situation regarding your aged account. Unfortunately, having emerged successfully from bankruptcy in 2012 under new ownership, we do not have access to records of any kind pre that period. We never owned the banks that issued the credit cards. You may want to report the current agency to the Better Business Bureau, and certainly offer no personal information. 

Please note that all Spiegel/Newport News credit card accounts were permanently closed on February 5, 2014, when we partnered with Amazon.
