Rent A Coder has a bias towards siding with buyers when it comes down to arbitration.Coders have the tendency to get ripped off on this site.

Buyer will set an unreasonable deadline and then not respond. The coder gets blamed by their phony arbitrators and has to pay a "cancellation fee" to RAC and gets a bad rating on the site. This is clearly a scam and Rent A Coder and its parent company Exhedra Solutions should be avoided.

Rent a Coder has been notified of your above issues, and I am investigating them.

Certainly if you deserved a different result than you received in your experience with Rent a Coder, then I will make sure that this issue is taken care of for you immediately (and I'll also apologize for the inconvenience). On the other hand, if you have not described what happened to you fully and accurately, or if you do not fairly and justly deserve a different result, then unfortunately I will not be able to help you (and you will owe RAC an apology for making inaccurate statements about it). In reviewing your issue, I have discovered the following 1. Vague statement without detail: Rent A Coder has a bias towards siding with buyers when it comes down to arbitration.Coders have the tendency to get ripped off on this site. I looked up your arbitrations, and based on the date of your report, the only arbitration you had up to that point had been closed out neutrally. You haven't given a particular arbitration where this has occurred. If it did, please supply the arbitration URL and I will examine if that occurred in a particular case. If it really did, then it will be corrected. If it didn't then of course nothing would change. To address the general issue that ALL coders have a tendency to get ?ripped off?? here is a list of 150 coders who would strongly disagree with you, because they just won their arbitrations: http://www.RentACoder.com/RentACoder/misc/Lists/ArbitrationWonBy_Coder.asp Additionally, here are another 100+ coders who would disagree with you even MORE strongly. These coders have been in at least 2 arbitrations and NEVER lost an arbitration to a buyer: http://www.RentACoder.com/RentACoder/misc/Lists/EveryArbitrationWonBy_Coder.asp If Rent a Coder were to favor buyers over coders, the word would eventually spread and this would doom the site to an eventually death. But this is not the case. Not only is Rent a Coder not dying, but it is growing. (see http://www.RentACoder.com/RentACoder/misc/About/ThePulseOfRentACoder.asp?blnStats=true) 2. Misleading statement about RAC policy: ?Buyer will set an unreasonable deadline and then not respond.? This is not a situation that can cause a coder a problem in arbitration?for two reasons: 2a) Before a coder places a bid, the buyer has ALREADY specified the deadline (on the bid request page). If a coder feels it is an unreasonable deadline, then they can simply not bid on the project, or negotiate the deadline with the buyer prior to placing a bid. However, once a coder commits to the deadline, they are held accountable for it. 2b) On the other hand, if the buyer's lack of response causes a coder to miss a deadline, the coder can simply notify the buyer of this in the private replies (before the deadline). If the buyer still doesn't respond, the Rent a Coder arbitrator will verify if it's legitimate and then award the coder the additional time to complete the project. 3. Misleading statement about RAC policy:: ?The coder gets blamed by their phony arbitrators and has to pay a "cancellation fee" to RAC and gets a bad rating on the site. This is clearly a scam and Rent A Coder and its parent company Exhedra Solutions should be avoided.? This is not a correct description of RAC policy. The coder will only receive a poor rating (3 or below) for not meeting the contract. The same goes for the cancellation fee. This will only be charged if the coder is at fault for the cancellation. All this is outlined in the Seller Agreement: http://www.rentacoder.com/RentACoder/SoftwareCoders/SoftwareSellerLegal.asp ?Cancellation Charge Holdback. Per the rules of arbitration, Seller is responsible for buyer's cancellation fee if they either: (a) Elect to take responsibility for the charge during self-mediation (b) Lose an arbitration, are determined to be 'at-fault', and have sufficient funds to cover some or part of the charge.? ?When one party is found at fault The at fault party receives a negative rating (3 or less) with a comment detailing what occurred and the arbitration is recorded as a 'lost' arbitration on their record.? Again if you have a specific arbitration where this occurred, please provide the URL. If this actually occurred it will be corrected. On the other hand, if it didn't, then nothing can be changed, and you may owe RAC an apology. 4. Unsubstantiated (derogatory) statement: ?The coder gets blamed by their phony arbitrators? The arbitrators do go through an extensive minimum 6 month training process. If at any point you do not agree with a result of an arbitration, you can request a Senior Arbitrator to review it. There are stipulations with that (your account will be closed if you have found to have requested the review with no evidence or reason) but if a mistake was made it would be corrected. Again, if a true mistake was made, then please provide the URL. If a mistake was made it will be corrected. If no mistake was made, then you owe RAC an apology for these statements.
