I bought a Harley-Davidson motorcycle on eBay. I clicked the Buy-It-Now price of $4,000. Immediately, another box came up, asking for my ID and password. After that, I received a Congratulations! I was approved to buy. From there, I followed eBay's instructions explicitly. We trusted eBay that they were a secure site. There was NO WARNING of any kind about possible scam or phishing UNTIL AFTER THE FACT!

So, eBay IS NOT A SECURE SITE. They have at least 1" thick of paperwork of everything connected to this transaction.

I received an email from eBay advising that the entire transaction was fraudulent and did not originate from eBay. They CLAIM NO RESPONSIBILITY to either provide my item or refund my money, although they guarantee this to be insured. This takes the cake, since eBay is the only site that has my ID and password, which I had to give them to be able to purchase anything; and I had to be approved. This line of garbage that they are trying to give me is BS. They are not for their customers. I am just a trusting person, believing eBay to be an okay site. I'm not a lawyer who has to go through and read every piece of paper with the eBay logo on it.

I would think eBay would go after anyone falsely acting as an eBay agent and using all eBay's logos, etc. eBay owes me the motorcycle I purchased or my $4,000 back. Yours truly,

If it's too good to be true...

First off, you need to take a deep breath. If you have a link to the site you purchased the Motorcycle on, you can forward that to the state attorney Generals office. there are a LOT of Phishing scams going on and their sites look IDENTICAL to Ebay, Paypal, your bank etc. They do not verify your userID and password. What happens is when you entered your user ID and password, they recorded that so they could use it themselves at a later date to scam others. When you entered your payment info, you royally messed up... EBAY does not process payments directly. You will either be directed to BidPay or PayPal... Expensive items, like motorcycles, cars, boats etc, should ALWAYS be paid thru a broker service... a service that holds the money until the buyer receives the merchandise, then upon their verification that they received what they bought, the funds are released to the seller... the first thing you should have noticed is the ridiculously low price of the motorcycle... if it looks too good to be true, then it is!!!
