I was interested in having a Spa themed birthday party for my daughter's 8th birthday. I called Dream Party Productions in May, 2008 after searching online for party planners. I contacted Amy, of Dream Party Productions (formally Kimberella Parties-has another complaint on here!!). I spoke with Amy, one of the owners, and she described what would take place at the party. For example, the girls would have their hair done, makeup, facials, pedicures, manicures, a craft, game, etc. It sounded wonderful. Therefore, I went ahead and booked the party for May 31 and placed a deposit of $100 via paypal. When I received the contract, it stated a few different items than was originally described to me. For example, the up do's were now $5/girl, along with $5/girl for facials. When I confronted Amy, she indicated that she must have misspoke. This should have been my first hint that something wasn't right.

During the weeks leading up to the party, I was constantly confused on what was provided by Dream Party Productions and what I was responsible for (tables, linens, chairs, etc). I asked Amy if we could discuss via the phone vs. email (she always emailed) and she indicated she would call me. Never happened...

Because I already put $100 deposit down and didn't want to loose, I continued with the planning. I sent Amy a copy of the invitation so that she could see the theme (black and pink) and indicated to her that I wanted to coordinate the colors. I ended up purchasing my own linens and rented a couple tables because I felt I couldn't rely on the them and wanted to play it safe.

On the day of the party, Amy called me (because she was lost) and indicated that the other hostess was not able to come. Therefore, it would just be her. She arrived later than anticipated so my daughter had to help her set up.

Of course, she didn't coordinate the table wear, even though I sent her a picture of the invite. She brought green utensils and rainbow plates! She informed me that the balloons flew up in the air when she got out of the car (funny, my husband saw her), she brought the wrong craft than agreed upon (sandy candy vs. lipgloss). Also, because there was only one party hostess, my husband had to empty the foot baths. I was informed that I would receive a photo CD, which was never done because no one took pictures..... Also, she didn't bring music and the girls didn't play any game as I was informed. They ended up sitting around a majority of the time.

At the end of the party, I confronted Amy and informed her that I should not have to pay the entire price. Amy indicated that she didn't know how to discount the party and thought everything went well!! Ridiculous. I relied on the "party planners" to take care of the party. Taking care of the party is not making alterations to the contract agreed upon. If people are going to spend money on a birthday party, they want the party, "their way!"

In the end, I would not recommend their service to anyone. Dream Party Productions is not professional when dealing with customers or putting customer needs/wants first.

Dissapointed
