Tell us has your experience with this business or person been good? What's this?

I won't go into detail telling you what garbage Dell laptops are...in my opinion of course,  and how they don't stand behind their products. Mine was defective from the day I received it. Later events made me wonder if it was refurbished to begin with. Anyway, my DRAMA with them went on from December of 1012 til July of 2013. Between lost data and having to reinstall software I probabbly had about 40-50 hours of MY time that Dell wasn't paying me fori nto the P.O.S. laptop.  I wanted to return the laptop and they refused. They said I had only 21 days to do so. I fought with them with them for months. I got the BBB involved. The BBB has a dedicated person to handel DELL complaints due to the amount of complaints about Dell that they recieve. They are useless though. Even with all of those complaints, they give Dell an A+ rating.  That tells me everything I need to know about the BBB. I was financing mine, What I did is I stopped making payments. I spoke with Susan Thomas at Dell Financial services (Phone +1 800 624 9897, Extn: 72-83898) and told her that I had the laptop and the money and they weren't getting either since they wouldn't take the laptop.

After 2 months went by and 2 payments hadn't been payed they were willing to give me a "REFURBISHED" laptop in place of the supposedly "NEW" laptop that I purchased. When I asked about a price reduction, I was told I still had to pay full retaill for the "REFURBISHED" LAPTOP. I also would not be getting an extensoin on the warranty. I told her this was unacceptable and from now on all contact must be done in writting as they were calling me every day since I was with holding all payments.

I called my congressmans office who put me in contact with Consumer Affairs Office of my state. They sent me some paper work to fill out. I did get a reply stating that Texas was out of their juridiction however they were passing on to the Consumer Protection Division of the Office of the Attorney Generals  in Texas at [email protected]. Once they got involved, Dell called me and was more that happy to take the laptop back. I told them that they would NOT be charging me any late fees for non payment. I was refunded 100% of everything I paid them. At first they told me it would take at least 10 days once they received the laptop back before they could process the refund. I told them I better have the full refund no later than 10 days or I will be call the Attorney Generals Office. I had it in less than 10 days.

I hope this works for you guys. If it does please post your experience so others can be helped. Stand you ground. Do not let them intimidate you. The law works for you too.  Dell must be stopped with their unfair business business practices. It like they read from scripts. Every time I called to complain, the first theing they said was"I'm sorry for your inconvenience" Their days of screwing people need to stop. Good luck!!!
