First:

Delbert had left my yard a mess, which resulted in many hours of my families work to restore it to prevent incurring a fine from my Home Owners Association. You have continually failed to show up to appointments that you make, and return phone calls and we no longer wish to deal with you.

After being contractually obligated to deliver landscaping within a specified time period, he failed to do so and took nearly two months to perform what he said would take one two two weeks.

He told me repeatedly, the money is gone. He has had bad luck. He would show up at 2pm, leave non-english speaking workers until midnight with on food or water and no way home.

Secondly:

After getting him to actually finish the work (and having to go back and fix many problems), the timer stopped working. After two weeks, he pulled it and left. He has stopped returning phone calls and four weeks later I'm tired of manually watering my yard.

STAY AWAY FROM ARIZOINA LAWN AND DELBERT DEEL.

He has many law-suits against him, including criminal activity int he past. I highly recommend you search local law archives before hiring someone -- I didn't.

Distracting from facts with continued lies

I'm sure that this is a wasted venture, trying to actually debate with someone who doesn't follow the law, who doesn't stay true to his own word and now makes up lies to cover his own inadequacies as a "business" owner. Apparently I have to increase the tempo on this and start presenting all data that was collected by me, first, here is the response to his attempt to distract. 1. I have not lied about anything. If this slander goes to court, I can produce affidavits of individuals (neighbors, families, others who did business with Arizona Lawn) stating that the facts I presented are true. 2. None of my checks bounced. As incredible as it sounds, I have actual cashed checks showing Delbert cashing the check on the same day (within hours, with thumbprints) of being written. The issue is not me providing money, the issue is his inability to manage his own "business" and get the work performed as he was contacted to. 3. A drunk? That is humorous. I do not have a drinking problem, however, Mr. Deel does. Many occasions he showed up with the smell of alcohol on his breath and when he spoke with me I would walk away not wanting to deal with someone under the influence. 4. There is not a hateful bone in my body related to race, religion or personality. I don't even hate Mr. Deel, instead, I want him to go away and I want to raise awareness to his shady business dealings with his supposed "Arizona Lawn" company. 5. This harassing of workers is such a joke. Let me tell you a story about how harassing I am. He had brought by three, non-English speaking, Mexican day workers to dig trenches for landscaping. This was before lunch on a weekday -- and then he disappeared around 1pm in order to obtain more equipment. At 10pm and cold outside (we live in a desert and it dropped from 90F to the 40's) he had not shown up so I offered a phone for them to call someone. In broken English, I was able to figure out that they didn't want to leave because he promised to pay them -- so I left them alone. During this entire 9+ hour period, they simply sat in my front yard and waited. At 11pm, they finally asked for a ride home (which was a 26 mile trek). Again, not knowing these individuals, I gathered my courage, and my Christian values, and took them home to their families. At around 1am in the morning, I hear Delbert drive up to the house looking for his workers. I run outside so I can confront him -- and HE'S DRUNK. He then has the audacity to tell me never to take his workers home. I told him not to leave his workers without transportation, food, or water on my property again. He did it one more time which is when I fired him and asked for a refund which is when I found out he had no money to refund. 7. His work was never completed, it was left in a condition that could only be classified as incompetent. Several times, he would leave garbage all over my yard, and he would leave the job 1/4 finished when it was promised complete. He was unable to complete one single task that he promised on any single day that he was working. 6. As soon as the investigation is complete by the Better Business Bureau, data will be available on their website regarding his activities What I'm concerned with is that after contacting the Better Business Bureau and searching through the web I found nothing on him so I hired him. After having problems - - I dug deeper and found a criminal past filled with property theft, failure to pay landscaping material companies to the point that he was banned from using them. After he was hired, he told me that several other of his past jobs were now suing him due to a variety of reasons.. My yard looks the way it does because I finished the job he never did. The only reason I went with Delbert was due to his assurance of speedy completion and competent service. Neither promise came to pass. Instead I have continued to deal with a "company" that fails to deliver on what is contracted. The last story I want to share deals with his inability to plan and follow through. He assured me he would not put any plants into the ground until the water was installed. We went back and forth on this as I saw plants show up and no plumbing installed. Regardless, when I arrived home from work -- plants were in the ground and no watering mechanisms put in place. For four weeks, I manually watered plants, called him upwards of four times a day and listened to hollow promises to finish the job. After a threatening with a lawsuit, he finally finished and installed a timer. One week later, this timer stopped working so I contacted him (again, I'm watering manually). He sends out an electrician who pulls the timer. SEVEN WEEKS later, only after I again threatened him with a lawsuit, reported him to this site, and the Better Business Bureau, did I get a timer. Of course, he didn't install it, program it, or even test it. He dropped it off and I installed it and validated it worked properly. His ineptitude in the arena of landscaping is mind boggling. How he could call himself a landscaper is beyond me. I'm sure he'll respond with some more lies, and some additional comments trying to distract from the facts presented above -- however, know that he is a criminal who in the past has been prosecuted for act ivies related to his line of business. #3REBUTTAL Individual responds

Sun, February 09, 2003

First: John Simpson was unable to pay for the services rendered. We started the project, and soon discovered his checks were not negotiable. The project was delayed until he was able to cover the bad checks. Second: Mr. Simpson continually drinks. Almost daily he harassed and 'put down' our workers. He hates people of Mexican decent. Third: All work was completed in a worksmanlike mannner Finally: It's sad that Mr. Simpson filed the complaint, his yard looks like a million dollars. I guess I know why his first wife left him since he is a compulsive liar.
