Tell us has your experience with this business or person been good? What's this?
I received a letter from Consumer First dated October 3rd. It was a Certificate of Acceptance for a GUARANTEED credit limit of $5,000.00. The offer was a little strange but I had applied for so many credit cards in the past few months, I assumed this was an offer from one of those companies or an affiliate.

I am extremely paranoid, but I like to give things the benefit of the doubt so I wrote a check for $49.00 and signed the certificate, made copies of everything and sent it out. I found it very strange that I didn't have an envelope to mail this is, but figured that I might have misplaced it.

The check was cashed some 3 days after I mailed everything out, and as I paid for RUSH delivery, I was expecting a credit card in the mail any day, and checked my mail daily. The card never came. After 10 business days, I decided to write a letter to the company. I tried to be courteous and inquired about the status of my card. That same day after I sent out the letter I found this website. I was FURIOUS!!!

Several days later I recieved my "credit card". I was planning on buying living room furniture with the card I was expecting and instead I got this piece of useless worthless silver plastic! I called customer service demanding my money back, as that was part of the certificate I signed. First the number was busy - some customer service! I kept calling until I got through, and asked to have my postage paid for as the letter I received was misleading and I did not think I should have to pay for shipping of materials I didn't ask for in the first place. I asked to speak with a supervisor.

Dee answered the phone. This woman had apparently never heard of such thing as "customer service" and ended up hanging up on me when I demanded that they pay for my postage and return my money immediately. She had the nerve to tell me that I should have read over the certificate more carefully, as as they did not promise a MAJOR credit card, they were doing nothing wrong. In the midst of my anger I told her about this website and that at that time there were 91 reports about the nature of this company. She told me that people who are posting reports here are ignorant! I confronted her with "Are you aware that a lot of people who you are ripping off with your scam are SENIOR citizens?!?! How would you feel if they were your parents or grandparents?" She did not respond. Honestly, that is the part that really upsets me, because I think of my grandparents when I think of these ripoffs!!!

I had no choice, so I decided to get my money back regardless! I went to the post office, and paid $5.85 for postage and threw in a confirmation of delivery tracking number in, in case I do have to take this to court or to the authorities. The package was delivered today. I will be updating this report on Monday, as I will be calling Dee back to find out where my money is!!!

On a side note this business is using a P.O. Box to run their operation. P.O. Boxes are property of the United States Post Office, and the federal government. Because this business is fraudulent and misleading, this can be prosecuted. I know this as I use P.O. Box for my business, and to open one up there are several documents and agreements one must sign and abide by. If there is any way to stop these crooks, this route is as good as any!
