I Live in St Petersburg, FL and ordered Clear.com wireless internet.   I have to say that I am extremely disappointed with their internet service, due to the fact that there map shows my house and there antenna close by. The antenna is 5 blocks to the west and 10 blocks south of us. As the crow flies that's about 1.5 miles.

I spent $49 dollars, plus tax, to order the Clear Hub with WIFI modem (there newest), then an additional $49 for the first 30 days of internet service.

Once I got the modem and started using the internet, I found the speeds to be unbearably slow. My average day to day speed was 0.85 MB/s and a low of .34 Mb/s to a high one time 1.9 MB/s. I have 1 to 2 bars out of 5

When I call they had me try all kinds of stuff. Move the modem to four different rooms in the house, place near the window, rotated 360 degrees, point it at the direction of there antenna. They suggested we buy an external antenna and gave us an address where to buy, the store never carried the 7db gain D-Link antenna, I call them back and was told that any Best Buy or Radio Shack carried them. . . Wrong! We went home and I looked it up on the internet. The antenna was $39.00. The next day I  called Clear and told them I was not going to pay $39 and they need to sent me one.  They did not have any so finally they credited my account $39 and I order one at Amazon.com. They did not credit my credit card just my Clear account.

The coverage in my area was to be great that my speeds would be 3-6 MB/s with bursts of up to ten, and that it would never drop below 3 MB/s guaranteed.  This is also stated on their website.

We received the antenna and hooked it up. . . NO help, no improvement in the number of bars.

I had 15 days to return it and to get a full refund there was only 2 days left I want my money back, I was so close to the antenna that it should / must work,  I even took it outside to test it and no change again, Junk.

I was immediately was given credit of $49.00 and would receive the remained of $53.03 when they received the unit back. They kelp me informed by email. As of today's writing I just received notices that they have received the modem. HERE is a copy of the email, I can't believe it.

We have received your CLEAR device. You should receive a refund of your device purchase price within 4 weeks, provided that you have satisfied each of the following requirements: (1) you have included the original purchase receipt; (2) you have returned the device, together with the applicable kit components, within 30 days from the device purchase date; and (3) the device is found to be undamaged and in good working condition.

Please Note: If we determine that the device, when returned to us, is damaged by reason other than a manufacturers defect, or does not otherwise satisfy the return policy requirements for a device purchase price refund during the Trial Period, then CLEAR will not return the device to you, and you will not be entitled to receive a refund for the device.

As mentioned in a previous email, we will continue to update you via email on the status of your refund request. Please do not contact our Care department for this refund request status, since CLEAR Customer Care likely will not have access to the necessary information.

Thank you,
CLEAR

This internet company is overpriced and falsely advertising their spreed!
Their speeds are not as advertised and they are ripping people off, don't fall

To me this pure Deceptive Trade Practices with there speeds, map locations, service area, equipment capability and false advertising.
