Clarkson of Glasgow Car Hire bogus advertisements
I rented a van from a Scottish auto rental company named Clarkson of Glasgow, which has an attractive web site.
Bottom line:
1. when we arrived, they charged me a 250 pound deposit never mentioned during the reservation process, and
2. to this day, I have not received the deposit back. From across the Atlantic, there is little recourse.
Beware of this company. It advertises low rates, but adds on undisclosed fees that bring the total price to well over what the major companies charge for rates.
