Here's yet another way that Citifinancial Retail Services rips off consumers: We allowed our daughter to purchase furniture from Rooms To Go on one of their "no payments, no interest" plans, using our credit. She still owes about $600 on the furniture (shame on her!).

Just before her promo period expired, we purchased a sofa on the same account, but with a different promo period. Citifinancial insists on applying all payments my daughter makes on her furniture to our promo of no interest, despite my punching the computerized #'s out of the payment stub, highlighting both on the stub and the check exactly which purchase to apply the payment to, and adding their 23.99%$ finance chgs. When I call to complain, I'm told that I have to call every month to have the money redirected-and then it takes 2 weeks to be done--The last payment of $1100 only had $4 in finance charges refunded. I KNOW that once the account number has been punched out of the payment stub, the information MUST be entered manually. The practice by this company is illegal by the very fact that specific payment directions are ignored. This company Must Be Stopped!
