These little firm pretends they have jobs and sucker you for a slick pitch Then you find out they just want to get your money up front for a routine career counseling service. If you want a job in Arizona go somewhere else, anywhere is better then this. After getting my money it has now been more tha-na 9 months and I'm still looking. Worse yet, every interview I've gotten has been on my own. I was an idiot. At least you've been warned!

Heather "the recruiter", if you are providing the very same services as described by the web site of CDR, why is your fiancee still looking for work three to four months later. Recruiters are hired by and work for companies not for job seekers as you tend to suggest.

I am the owner of a professional recruiting firm specializing in technical and engineering industries. My fiance responded to a job ad on career builder for a VP of Operations in the retail industry. Global Solutions responded. When the recruiter called and explained that they need $3500.00 to start a search for him, I about fell out of my chair laughing. We politely declined their services at that time, that was 3 months ago. Another of their recruiters called today, prompting this response. Any recruiting or "placement" firm worth their weight in salt DOES NOT EVER charge a candidate a fee for placement. True placement firms are paid by their client companies to find them talented candidates. Our firm (and most decent firms that I know of) offers the same type of service, eg. resume writing or polishing, career counseling, interview preparation, offer and benefit negotiation, at no cost to the candidate. Firms are paid very well by a client company to find them top talent, therefore it is not necessary to charge a candidate a fee. When I see a company charging a candidate a fee for placement, it raises a huge red flag to me. It, in my humble opinion, tells me that they don't know what they are doing or it wouldn't be necessary to charge a candidate a fee to supplement their cash flow. It also places a large burden on an individual seeking employment unnecessarily. Our firm, as with many decent recruiting firms, also provide outplacement services to many companies at no cost to the company or the employees that are being laid off. Especially in the current economy, expecting a person to pay to find employment is absurd at best. Many people who are either facing unemployment or are currently unemployed need the money they have on hand to feed their families. Why add to their burden??? In looking at CDR's website, I see nothing that they offer at their high price that our firm doesn't offer our candidates for free. I also find their "money back" guarantee to be vague at best. Their satisfaction guarantee is even even more vague than their "money back" guarantee. I am appalled by the CEO's response to the initial post on here. Rather than addressing the individual's concern, he instead takes the opportunity to call him an idiot. He does not address any of the other concerns on ripoffreport.com either. He passes the blame for his company's mishaps to an unnamed incompetent jealous competitor. My advice to any job seeker having a hard time finding a position is to find a good recruiter specializing in the area of your expertise. Some of the smaller niche firms will serve you best in your search. Granted there are bad firms out there, there are also a lot of good ones who will not take your money to find you a job even if you threw it at them.

Note: The CDR Group that does not clearly represent themselves in job offer deatails on CareerBuilder.com (i.e. does not state being offered by a job counseling/search firm) is also doing business as Global Solutions. The jobs "offered" on CareerBuilder.com are not actual jobs, however, bait to gather your information to sell you on their very expensive job search business. Unless you are in dire need and can also afford $6k to look for a job, I suggest you go directly to companies that are truthful in their job offerings. Best, go directly to the company sites where all open positions are posted.

Opinions are appreciated accusations are erroneous

We appreciate opinions from all of our clients and those that are not our clients who have visited with us. We are licensed and bonded by the Department of Labor and have binding arbitration with the BBB. All of our true clients know that they have an open door policy to present any questions or concern that surfaces with respect to their campaign. The accusations in the complaints are factitious and do not represent our business in any manner. We are not a career counselor and are not a job search training company.

Have someone pay anywhere from $100-$7000 for personalized resume and job hunting is just as bad as hiring a personal back scratcher. the CEO has rebuttals calling those who filed complaints ---IDIOTS---. That should drive home the clients. Go to the public library and pick from the many fine books of resume writing and job search. It's free. This is just my opinion.

Malicious lies and scandalous reports

I am CEO of the company and this individual is truly and idiot as he claims. He has never been to our offices and is clearly not one of our clients. This is the unethical work of an incompetent competitor. Does it not seem strange that for over 30 years we have been providing employment placement services throughout North America and suddenly over the past two months we have become the bad guy. If any person is concerned they need only take the time to visit with myself and they will see through the crap that is appearing on the rip-off-report. The internet can be a useful tool, but also a tool of the devil. Brian Randall CEO CDR Group of Companies
